I hired Julian because he had been very responsive on a previous job for installation of a gas stove for my mother. It was difficult to obtain the particular gas water heater I wanted. I wanted a high-efficiency unit with a longer-than-average warranty. Julian said that such units were hard to get and had to be ordered weeks in advance because warehouses normally stock only the standard types offered by plumbers. He apparently tried to get the unit I specified, but suggested an alternate unit by another manufacturer. I agreed, but the unit he installed was not the one I expected; it was a lower grade, less efficient unit. (Perhaps I should have been more clear about model numbers.) Installation was difficult because of cramped space in our condo; the unit barely fit. He and his assistant had to be both strong and willing to climb over the water heater to get the old out and the new one in. Everything seems to be tight and to be working OK.
