I worked with Michelle to decide on what floor to purchase to replace my tile floor and new kitchen cabinets. She did research for me and helped me get to a decision I was happy with. She also coordinated timing and follow up with Bob of Boston Green Renovations.

Terrene is top-notch! We worked together on a number of projects, most notably a kitchen renovation, and are so happy we did. Michelle is a joy to work with. I am meticulous about details and project management, and she exceeded my expectations at every turn. As we selected the finishes, her guidance led us to choices that were beautiful, functional, and considerate of our budget. From cabinet configurations to color choices, I trusted her design expertise and opinions completely. She was also brilliant problem-solver when it came to project scheduling. In addition to the kitchen and bathroom remodeling, we sourced paint, hardwood flooring, and carpet from Terrene for all but two rooms in our new house and had great experiences working with Michelle and Bob to finalize those choices. We are very happy with the work we did in partnership with Terrene and highly recommend them!

This was our first major renovation project in our house. It took us over five years to finally get around to removing carpeting that we didn't care for and was unsuitable for our lifestyle, partly because hiring home improvement contractors sounds like such a risky business. However, this gave us plenty of time to mull over what we wanted to replace the carpeting, and having more or less decided on (green, sustainable) bamboo, we decided to visit the Terrene showroom.
Bob worked with us from the outset, communicating with us in a timely fashion. The pace from our initial showroom visit to the actual install was, let's say, leisurely due to the epic winter weather, but we always felt like the process was moving forward. The materials were delivered a day early, and the install began and ended on schedule. Everything happened on time and on budget. The floors look great, and we're so happy that we finally did this.
I'm still amazed at how smoothly everything went. Working with Bob and his contractor Albert from Terrene's sister company, Boston Green Renovations, was a genuine pleasure. Our next big project will likely be renovating our kitchen, and given our experience, and what we saw in Terrene's showroom, we will certainly consider working with Terrene and BGR again.

We chose Boston Green Renovations after using a different company for our 2 bathroom renovations and not being entirely happy with that experience. We wanted to find another design/build company to avoid working with too many different contractors and teams. From the day we met Bob and his team, we were immediately impressed with all they had to offer. Bob, Michelle and Glen arrived to our home to meet us in person and discuss a design. It was easy to work with all of them from start to finish and they each brought years of expertise to the job. After Glen put together the overall sketch and design for the kitchen, Michelle helped us with the design details. It was helpful to be able to visit their store, Terrene, as Michelle was able to show us examples of cabinets, tiles, flooring and countertop. Michelle was available to provide advice, yet allowed us to make our own decisions in the end. She made a few suggestions that we went with and to this day are so happy with those choices. Michelle is patient, knowledgeable and understands how big a decision everything was to us. While all of the products they offer are green, we went with a countertop that they didn't offer but Michelle told us exactly where to go to pick out the marble countertop we wanted and made the process as smooth as possible. We met their contractor, Albert, on the first day of the job and were more than impressed throughout the 5 weeks they worked on the kitchen. Albert's team were all very professional, clean, tidy and respectful. We couldn't have asked for a more smooth sailing process as we know how difficult a kitchen renovation can be on a family with children. Albert kept the communication open and checked in with us on a daily basis. The team promised us that the project would be complete in time for us to host Christmas and they came through. Bob was very involved throughout the entire project and would stop by almost daily to check on everything. At any point we reached out to Bob, Michelle or Albert, they responded that same day. Inevitably there were a few unexpected things that came up but then again our house was built in 1860. They did what they could to keep some of the original character of the home while incorporating all of the new flooring, cabinets, windows, tile etc. The cost did inrease a bit throughout the project but Bob was very open the entire time with how much of an increase everything would be. It would have been hard to project what these unexpected costs would have been beforehand and to be honest, we were okay with paying more as the project exceeded our expectations in the end. Knowing how old the house is, nothing is square in our home so working with the existing angles of the home proved to be very difficult. We experienced the same thing with our bathroom renovations. Everything took a bit more time and extra work because of this but Albert never seemed to be bothered by this. They worked around all of the challenges they were faced with and did so with a smile. Their attention to detail was amazing and quality of work was unlike anything we had experienced before. If you're looking to do a remodel in the Boston/Newton area, be sure to meet with Bob and his team as you won't be disappointed.

Excellent.  They came here for an initial consult.  I went to their store to pick out products.  I worked with the very best kitchen designer.  Her attention to detail, her follow-through and everything she did to made the kitchen project go smoothly - pulling together the products so what ought to shine does and the focal point is on the cabinets yet everything in the room flows - from how the room is laid out to the colors for the floor, counters, back splash and accents to the lighting.  Our kitchen is now the best room in our house.  Because of Michelle and Bob at Terrene, I feel good about the project and I did while it was ongoing.  Michelle and Bob led us through the process and were responsive when we had questions or concerns.  We would hire them again if we had to do it all over again.

I am an interior designer who first worked with Terrene of NE when I had an environmentally conscious client who was
remodeling her kitchen. We were both very pleased with the diverse selection of sustainable products and also very pleased with
the service that we got from Maryellen, Michelle and Bob (and I think that's the entire staff). We worked closely and collaboratively over several weeks and each one of them were able to seamlessly help us progress from one meeting to the next. In the end, we bought counter top, flooring, back splash subway tile and one huge 48x48 inch glass tile. They are well equipped to be your one-stop-shop for an environmentally responsible home! I will definitely bring more clients to Terrene in the future!

HE NEVER FIXED MY PROBLEMS THAT HE DID AND NEVER TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS HORRIBLE WORK. HE CHARGED ME A GREAT DEAL.; PROMISED THE WORLD AND NEVER EVEN TREATED ME WITH THE RESPECT AND HONESTY I GAVE HIM.

Everything went great! Bob's team was very helpful at selecting and quot;greenand quot; materials for our kitchen renovation project. We have a child with asthma and having products that didn't off-gas chemicals into our house was very important to us. Not only that but they were great at helping us select products that would look good together and help us to create the vision we had in our heads. They were very professional and were good at keeping us updated on any cost increases or changes and asked for change orders to be signed before any cost changes were incurred. They kept us abreast of the schedule and tried to get the project done before we moved into the new house (or at least as much as possible done) so we weren't living without a kitchen for very long. They kept the work area neat and cleaned up after themselves. They were good with kids and our dog as well. They made sure all the little details were taken care of and we were satisfied with the end product. Definately quality work! We are already planning on saving up for our next renovation project and would not hesitate to use them again.

My bathroom remodel was done by Boston Green Renovations but I used the design services and bought products from Terrene, the sister company that specializes in sustainable and recycled building products. I worked with the designer Mary Ellen to choose tiles, flooring and a vanity. In the space of three hours Mary Ellen found out what my style was and came up with a color scheme and products to match. While I'm not afraid to make my own choices it was great to have Mary Ellen's design eye to help pull it all together. The worst part of a remodeling project is sorting through the seemingly infinite number of products and possibilities and so it was a relief to spend time in the Terrene showroom looking at what they carried and feeling perfectly comfortable with choosing from among the products they recommended. Later on, Mary Ellen helped me find a few other accessories to finish off the look. She also came up with the design for the accent tiles that we chose. Everything worked really well together as you can see from the pictures. Having access to Mary Ellen's services was one reason I chose to go with Boston Green Renovations.

Robert LaFond and his staff are a pleasure to work with. From the design, to ordering, to the actual work a seamless and professional job. Mr. LaFond spent many hours with me providing the design, selection of materials, and answered all of my questions quickly. I have the most beautiful "green" kitchen!
