Project went very well - we could not be happier

Excellent. Steve was friendly, fast, and very good. His crew did an excellent job, cleaned up well, and figured out how to handle some challenging wood refinishing where there were some mystery chemical stains. Excellent job all around.

In terms of execution, they did a very good job overall, though to this day (it's been a few weeks) I'll notice a few areas of tiny paint splatter on the hardwood floor and hardwood cabinetry and windows. Nothing major, but because I have a temporary disability it's hard for me to deal with these things myself. Main issue is that he appears to be such a high volume painting company that many of the details we discussed initially (which rooms and bathrooms would be painted, what paint would be used) ended up being topics of dispute afterwards once I brought them up again. Specifically, the paint I chose apparently needed more than the usual number of coats, which I learned only a couple days before the job was to begin. I did mention the paint specifically during the initial visit, which the quote was supposedly based off us. However, two days before the job, Steve then requested a much higher price (> $1000 higher), which I balked at. To his credit, he acquiesced and accepted what essentially was the original quoted price (there were a few other modifications) but given that the time to book a paint job is on the order of several months, I lost valuable time. Also, lots of back and forth and last minute changes with the painting schedule dates, which is not the most convenient thing if you plan to be away during the painting work. There are also a few superficial scuff marks on my recently restored hardwood floor that I will have to deal with also. Again, in terms of technical execution, they did a very good job, with few minor issues. Professionally, although Steve did essentially honor the original quote, things could have been handled more carefully IMO and given the long lead time for these jobs, I recommend making sure that much explicit detail is provided in the initial quote.

The exterior paint job on my house was just completed yesterday - and the end result is beautiful. It was a pleasure dealing with Steve and his crew (Scotty and Pat) from the get-go. The quote was very reasonable and provided promptly. Steve was always immediately responsive to questions without hesitation, and provided great suggestions. The crew was fabulous - prompt every day, orderly and neat around the job site, and nice, respectful and pleasant - the care and pride these professionals take in their work really shows in the end result. I consider myself very fortunate that I went on Angie's List and Yelp and found Stephen Navarro Painting, and have already requested a quote for another painting job.

The work he did looks excellent, he did it quickly, and the price was great. We were very happy with this work. Highly recommended.

(He also threw in an extra piece of wall that hadn't been in the work order, and patched some unexpected holes we found once some bookcases were moved away from the wall, at no extra charge -- I can't promise he'll always do that of course.) At all times he did what he said, when he said. I would use him again, no question.

The crew showed up on time every day and worked without any delays. They kept their tools and equipment neatly organized. When working on the outside of the house, they were careful not to damage the plantings near the house. It was a joy working with them and we are extremely satisfied with the results. We had the house painted before by a well-known company - they were nowhere as good as Navarro's team. They made sure any needed carpentry (replacing rotten wood, broken wood) was done - they did not try to hide the flaws.

The inside painting job was done very well. The walls needed extensive patching and prep work due to a very old badly installed wallpaper that was removed. As they were finishing the living room, they notices that the small front hall looked bad in comparison - and suggested we get the painted too - a great move - made the house look much better. Their help in choosing color was good too - both for the inside and the outside.

The painters were great.  Very professional, easy to talk to, responsive to comments/suggestions.   I felt they were thorough without going overboard with unnecessary extras to save us money.

Stephen and his team did a very beautiful job of painting the interior of our house before we moved in.  That was two years ago, and the job still looks completely new.  Besides that, they touched up our wall after the damage done by the harsh winter of 2015 for a very reasonable price - again, everything looked great.  They also fixed damage done to our bathroom by a leak in our upstairs neighbor's place - it seemed like it was going to be a nightmare to fix, but Stephen and his team made a hard job look easy, and did it with punctuality and professionalism.

It was excellent. Steve Navarro and his crew are experienced, hardworking, trustworthy, and talented painters. A few years ago, they did the exterior of our 95 year old home. And recently performed extensive interior painting to our horsehair plaster walls that were in poor condition. The quality of their work in both scenarios was outstanding. Steve's professionalism was also extended by his detailed contract, punctuality, and leaving the work-site each day in meticulous condition. Thanks to Steve, our home looks amazing. We would highly recommend him and his crew.

We have a 100 yo house and a gambrel roof. Today, we discovered that one side of the gambrel was actively leaking, wall was diffusely wet and paint bubbling. Another storm was forecast for tonight.  Steve sent a crew out same day.  They were great guys courteous and professional.  Their promptness has likely saved us from far more damage.

Steve complained constantly from the first moment about everyone, both behind their back and to their face, including me. Turned a happy job site into an unhappy one; none of the other workers could tolerate his gratuitous insults. Price (via bid) was outrageous, but I agreed to pay it because he insisted he was a high-end painter who only did top quality work. He lied. They do slap-it-on the cheap apartment work. They patched holes around light switches and didn't even bother to remove the plates nor patch the part that doesn't show. He wanted to use a "better" quality Benjamin Moore Paint than the Aqua Velvet I spec'd, but instead used a lower quality contractor grade paint instead of Aura (wish is the better quality paint.) The cheap paint left drips on the woodwork. He was responsive and did things over when I asked, but the redo improved nothing. I ended up paying another painter to repaint most of his work. I feel cheated.
