The relationship was terminated half way through the project. Silverdog is a general contractor and hires out all of his sub-contractors. The owner of the company did not do any of the physical work on the project. The subs that he had hired were poorly crafted, didn't show up, and were asked to do things over on many aspects of the job. On the first day of the job, they took out the wrong window in the demolition. One of his sub was uninsured, which was bought to my attention after he had started the job. The new plaster ceilings were not level despite the room being completely gutted and restrapped prior to the ceiling being installed. The crown molding then couldn't be installed, and it had to be replastered and feathered out by the painter. The finish carpentry that was installed was very amateur, without the proper nosing, and it was not level either. Shelving and baseboard heights were inconsistent. It was redone multiple times and still wrong (My new contractor ended up redoing everything after Silverdog was terminated). Also, the hardwood floors split and continue to give splinters at the cracks. His subcontractor will not repair it. The carpet installer hit a heating pipe when installing his tack strips. The pocket doors were installed incorrectly and when they went to remove them, they broke one of the glass panes. On the addition end, the concrete form was poured differently than on plan - this change was never presented or agreed upon. The pipe to my outdoor dry well was broken and covered up only to be rediscovered later at a huge expense, and the perforated pipe laid behind the addition was installed too high to properly drain the water.
As you can tell, the list goes on and on. The repairs on the job to fix what was done incorrectly or to repair the damage far exceed what we had in our budget. This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had.

Jonathan is wonderful to work with. His team was neat and respectful of our home. They cleaned up at the end of each day. We are very pleased with our new bathroom, it is just what we asked for and everything looks ( and works) great. Jonathan was available through out the whole project, they started when they said they would and finished on time. I would highly recommend Silver Dog.
