I wished I had written this years ago...and as problems keep coming up from the job that was done in 2006, I finally am getting around to this review after yet another issue with the track lighting this company installed. The expensive track heads kept burning out, which shouldn't happen in the time period that this was installed. An electrician took a closer look at the wiring and discovered that they used the wrong type of dimmer switches for the lighting. This caused the fixtures to burn out. I've also had many problems with the Mexican tile floor. They are standard floor tiles. The person who was working for this contractor was not a pro at tiles. He was a student hired to work on the job. He didn't sort the tiles when choosing them and laid down many chipped tiles. When I disapproved upon seeing the finished job, he laughed and said "I thought you liked the old chipped look." These tiles are also cracking all across the floor. When I complained, he said I didn't use the right tiles, which is not true... They are the standard Mexican terra cotta tiles sold locally in reputable tile places. The problem is because he didn't properly level the floor. The owner was very congenial and had great ideas for the type of kitchen that I wanted to create and understood my personal style. The problems came from the fact that he was always on another job and hired untrained people and left them unsupervised. He did a great job on some of the carpentry, using old materials and incorporating them with new, however For the money that I spent on both his labor and materials, there shouldn't have been so many issues. He also did not respond when I complained about the shoddy tile work. I would beware of hiring this company.
Description of Work: the plan was to remodel my kitchen. The space was gutted from top to bottom. also foundation work was involved in the floor needed to be leveled and water pipes insulated under the floor because the kitchen had no basement, just a crawl space. A mexican terra cotta tile floor with heat pad beneath was installed as well as kitchen cabinets, counter top, new lighting. basically it was a total renovation.
