"[Member Name Removed] Kennebec was deceiving in both scope and payment We were not hired as General contractors Her privileges from National Lumber, who referred us, was revoked. She was invest Newton Inspectional Building Dept and cited for multiple violations and had refused payments to multiple contractors and painters. This person is a dispicable individual"

Dealing with Lee Bardin was the worst experience I have had in 30 years of home ownership. He demolished the master bath in May and then went off on other jobs. I asked him to leave the job in August and it was still gutted. The worst part was that he sent sub contractors who were not qualified. My heated floor got laid incorrectly and ruined-it has taken me thousands of of dollars to try and correct. He told me I was 'Overreacting". His suggestion? tile over the incorrectly laid heat mat. The company told me if I had done that all the tile would have cracked in 6 months. He comes across quite charming, promises the world and produces shoddy workmanship. His original estimate will double or triple by the time you are done. And you will spend even more correcting his mistakes. Stay away from this man!

"In 14 years of business, this woman was the difficult & created issues over every process. Her lack of any practical knowledge of construction led to constant drawn out explanations of typical construction. We have so many satisfied clients and an established referal base, that this nusiance customer was not worth the effort to deal with. We have a thriving business based on referals, with no advertising. This client waited an entire fall & spring to fit her schedule into ours and she was still not prepared with materials sellected and delivered in a timely basis. Her master bath job was delayed by her lack of product decisions and over complicated drama when dealing with layer upon layer of incompatable pre-existing conditions that required additional work. Several structural issues needed to be reworked, as well as the water lines, which needed to be increased from 1/2" to 3/4" , as well as rerouted to avoid any unconditioned spaces (to comply with code & avoid potential freezing, the existing waterlines ran through the unheated garage and were code violations)While working on the master bath, the hall bath also required our renovations, after we were told that it was unusable for the previous 8-10 years, as well as the laundry room, which required a complete renovation. The washer drain was a code violation, the dryer vent was a code violation, and the entire waste drains in the garage required new piping. After starting one bath, then renovating three other areas of the house, the tile for the master was finally delivered. This woman found fault with every worker, including her dearest friend, her electrician, who had asked me to take on this job. He has worked with me for 10 years on so many quality home renovations. He insisted they hire me. So what went wrong? I cannot continue to invest any more of my time in this woman's drama or her problems. She creates her own issues. She created hundreds of emails and was home everyday hovering over the workers, without any practical knowledge of the processes involved. Her home was renovated previously and the poor workmanship we found was a real eye opener. Every one of my men pleaded to not have to go there and deal with her. Even suing her for the payments we didn't receive doesn't seem worth it! She has so much free time, she seems to thrive on drama! My business thrives on referals and we have never pursued Angies List or any other formal referal network. This isolated disgruntled client is obviously frustraited and has issues."
