Loosing your home and contents, watching all your memories and belongings disappear in smoke was a very dramatic experience and I remember the feelings of despair that engulfed my entire body! Larry Berman couldn't be more knowledgeable, responsive, or accommodating. We lost our entire condo building to a fire which obviously couldn't be a more stressful experience. When a leak in our water heater caused major water damage to our home, we immediately contacted Berman Adjusters, Inc. who were on the scene almost before the remediation crew had a chance to tear up the carpet. In less than one hour, a representative from Berman was in touch with our insurance company, arranging for one of their inspectors to come to the house the next morning to survey the damage and begin the process of estimating the cost to repair and replace all that was lost to us. Filing a clam and all the other paperwork that goes into such a situation, was taken over by Berman Adjusters, allowing us to take a deep breath and sit back and wait for the final decision by our insurance company We were more than satisfied with the time it took to settle our case and credit Berman Adjusters with an equitable and speedy resolution.

From the time of loss, Berman Associates (Larry Berman) was there at each step of the mitigation, recovery and insurance settlement. He was very knowledgable and informative throughout the entire process. Would, and have, recommended Berman Associates.

I couldn't get anywhere until I hired Berman Adjusters. They got the claim covered, negotiated the cost of the claim, and got the money to me, all in a timely fashion. The relief was unbelievable. They know the ins and outs of the business. Don't try to handle a claim without them.

I was referred to Berman Adjusters after a neighboring unit in our building caused substantial flooding in our business. Larry was not only highly responsive, but exceedingly knowledgeable. When you have an insurance claim you need someone who knows their way around, someone with experience and familiarity with policies, the law, and the industry players. Larry has all this and more wrapped in a friendly & warm demeanor. With over 40 years in the claims adjustment business he knows what to do, what to say, who to reach and how to help. I am confident that we received a far better result than if we had gone it alone.

After a significant house fire, I spent a few weeks researching and calling for references about whether we needed a public adjuster (I had never used one before) and if so, who to hire. After some excellent and reliable references, I went with Berman. It was a great decision for us. We were lost as to how to handle the insurance company and the array of contracting work we needed, but Berman gave us great directions and took over the communication with the insurance company. We had a major contractor that wasn't working out and Berman figured it out before we did it and helped us get into a much better situation. In addition to helping with the adjustment, Berman saved us tons of time, did most of the interfacing with the contractor, and answered the very many questions we had about the process. He allowed us to focus on the rest of our lives.

A thunderstorm resulted in 3 inches of water covering my entire finished basement. On a Sunday evening I didn't know if I would be able to get help. I called Berman Adjusters and they immediately coordinated a restoration company to come to my home to start the drying process. I couldn’t believe that they were so responsive on the weekend. I am very grateful for Jon and the Berman Adjusters team.

Beware the man that professes to know and deliver it all! We hired Berman Associates following the disappointing settlement offered by our insurance company for the catastrophic fire to our three-family property. When we initially met Larry, he gave a virtuoso performance going on in detail about his impressive resume, strong insurance and political contacts, and ability to right a wrong quickly and efficiently. Upon examining the insurance company's proposed settlement to us, Larry offered up a condemnation of the adjustor's methodology and without doubt, said that he would have this settlement properly “re-settled” within 60 days. Larry exuded, with great confidence, that a little dialogue between him and the insurance adjustor would right a very grave wrong. After being wooed and wowed, we confidently signed a contract with Berman Associates which allowed for 5 % of the total settlement as a fee for their services. That turned out to be a mistake. During the 60 days that Larry promised for a revised settlement, we had to contact his office repeatedly for a status of his efforts and communication back from him was always delayed. After many weeks of waiting, the calculations arrived with a higher bottom line and Larry passed those on to the insurance company. After reviewing, the insurance company sent back an e-mail indicating disagreement with the calculations and reaffirmed their position on the initial set of their calculations. At that point Larry told us there is nothing more he can do and referred us to a law firm that specializes in legal resolution of such matters (which of course charges their own fee). Skip ahead, a year later, the law firm sets up a final hearing with the insurance company’s adjuster and legal team, expert witnesses, the referee panel, and us. Berman Associates is not represented. At the hearing, the insurance adjustor under oath indicates that he never spoke with anyone from Berman Adjusters and that his communications boiled down to a couple emails back and forth. In fact, the insurance adjustor said he was surprised to hear that the case had moved onto the legal phase since he had not felt that Berman Associates had completed or sustained the dialogue of the case with the insurance company. At the end of the process, Berman Adjusters received a substantial fee (5% on the entire settlement). I reached out to Larry Berman to address my concerns of his apparent non-performance of his contractual responsibilities to represent us (again, all he did is outsource the calculations, send those to insurance, and then refer us to a different law firm). Larry chose not to address my concerns. He arrogantly stated that since we knew nothing of the insurance litigation process we would have failed in appealing the insurance company’s initial settlement. Also given we had received extra money from the settlement, we should have no problem paying his fee. A lot of money for a lot of nothing!

I had never used a public adjuster -- an adjuster to work for me, not the insurance company's adjuster -- before and I was a bit skeptical about paying a fee for an insurance adjustment I felt entitled to. But I never had a claim like this, and I couldn't take it on as an extra project on top of my work. LibMu offered me a very inadequate settlement but Jon was able to increase the settlement by over 50%. As an attorney myself, I was pleased to be represented by Jon because he is a competent, experienced professional. As a homeowner, I was relieved to have the process handled for me. I highly recommend him.
In Massachusetts the standard "public adjuster" fee is 10% of the settlement and that's what Jon charged.

PLEASE use this adjuster. I have heard horror stories from friends and none of them have had the excellent experience i have with this adjuster. There were literally 7 different adjusters on my lawn the morning after the fire. Jeff was the least pushy yet he was persistent. He just stayed in the background and when i sent the others away he stepped forward. Polite and professional. Just what i needed.
