Alana has been wonderful. We are addressing the inappropriate elimination first and have seen immense improvements. Georgia is also returning to her more social self, for which I am extremely grateful. We will begin working on the inter cat aggression next. It is a process, but I expected that and have been very happy with the guidance of support that Alana has given us

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE and have enjoyed it so much that we are continuing our progress.
In June, we adopted an 18 month old border collie/bernese mix from a shelter. After two weeks of puppy excitability, we thought it was time for a professional to help us train. I searched reviews for local trainers and found Alana. The method and approach described on her website was just what were looking for. We did not want to install training with fear but wanted to make it fun for all of us through positive reinforcement. Because our dog was 18 months old, he still exhibited a high level of puppy behavior. He loves to play with anyone and any dog (which we love) but can be a little extreme when he gets excited.
In the 8 weeks that we have worked with Alana (“we” as in all three of us), the jumping on furniture has diminished considerably, bedtime behavior has improved immensely and the chewing on furniture and other household objects has stopped. We are having so much fun playing with him and watching him grow into his adult personality but still amazes us with his gentle and sweet disposition. We are progressing toward off-leash training with Alana’s assistance and while he still exhibits the nighttime burst of energy, she has shown us ways to relax him at the end of the day. Alana truly understands dog behavior and how to use that energy in a positive way.
The classes occur in our home or yard and while they are scheduled for one hour, Alana makes it so much fun and interesting that they have averaged at least two hours and sometimes longer.

We have opted to continue with a series of lessons at $75 per. We can already see a big difference. I would recommend her highly to anyone with a dog that needs training, or with a dog or cat with behavior issues.

I adopted a young cat from a rescue shelter whose background was unknown as she'd been abandoned. Though the cat seemed sweet and basically well behaved from the start, I was concerned about a few things and wanted the advice of a professional before the cat-person relationship became "cast in concrete." Alana seems very knowledgeable and had suggestions that I'd not heard or read about previously, though I've been a cat-owner for many years. She does have strong opinions that I didn't always agree with, but she would generally provide an alternative for suggestions I said I didn't feel comfortable with or capable of implementing. After the visit, she e-mailed an exhaustive list of cat-related resources. She also responded promptly to a follow-up e-mail question I sent her.
