They’re fine.  They can be a little bit pushy.  They are knowledgeable and scheduling is fine with them.

Hughes replaced a hot water system that had died of old age. It required multiple visits to determine that the system had failed and required replacement. The installation was poorly done, with the thermostat installed butted up against a wall and very inaccessible. The wiring was done incorrectly, calling for heat to the system whenever any other zone in the house called for heat - resulting in scalding hot water. It required multiple visits by their technicians and it was not fixed until a supervisor inspected the system and found the wiring problem.

We are on the automatic delivery program. The technicians that have come out for the annual oil burner tune-ups have been friendly and professional. Up until recently I had been really satisfied with their service. I called about the significant increase on the cost of the Oil Burner Policy and the customer service rep was unpleasant and condescending. I asked why the cost had gone up so much and he said that it was because they had to charge more to be able to pay for the quality technicians. I pointed out that other providers don't charge as much and he offered to take $25 off but said that he would not take more than that off because if he did then I would call back every year to ask for a discount. I just recently learned that Hughes was acquired by another company and I wonder if that has anything to do with the change in quality of customer service.

Superb service provider, I wish I knew about them years ago.

HAVE BEEN A HUGHES CUSTOMER SINCE WE MOVED INTO THE HOUSE (1989) - WE INHERITED THEM FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS PROVIDED EXCELLENT SERVICE AND KEPT OUR AGING SYSTEM RUNNING WELL. DECIDED TO REPLACE IT AND GOT AN ESTIMATE. THE SALESMAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE, QUICK TO RESPOND, AND WILLING TO NEGOTIATE AGAINST A COMPETITIVE BID. THEY ALSO RECOMMENDED A COMPANY TO REMOVE AN UNDERGROUND TANK (DB ENVIRONMENTAL - THEY ALSO DID AN EXCELLENT JOB). THE TWO YOUNG MEN WHO DID THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION DID A TERRIFIC JOB - THEY WERE PERSONABLE, EFFICIENT, OFFERED ADVICE, AND DID A GREAT CLEAN UP. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HUGHES.

SERVICEMAN (TONY) IS PROMPT, THOROUGH, AND OBVIOUSLY TAKES GREAT PRIDE IN HIS WORK TO MAKE SURE IT'S DONE PROPERLY.

I HAVE AN OLD BURNER AND THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB KEEPING IT GOING. THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIVE AND THEY AUTOMATICALLY RE-DELIVER WHEN MY OIL IS ABOUT TO RUN OUT. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BURNER AND THEY HAD SERVICED IT THE DAY BEFORE. I CALLED THEM AND THEY CAME RIGHT OUT WITHIN THE HOUR. THEY HAVE EXCELLENT RESPONSE TIME AND THEY CALL TO LET YOU KNOW THEY ARE COMING AND WHEN.
