About us
Select Contracting is a licensed, general service Home Improvement Company. We are experienced in all aspects of residential work, specializing in repair work, remodeling and fine painting. Most of our business is from repeat customers, word-of-mouth referrals, or from other contractors who offer only specialized services. We have two full time tradesmen, perform all the work ourselves and do not hire subcontractors. We offer free estimates, provide detailed proposals, and always warranty our workmanship. License information, insurance certificates and references are happily provided. We now accept major credit cards as means of payment. Our territory includes greater Boston north to the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire.

Our major focus is to provide a full compliment of repair and replacement services for the homeowner. We can fix a cracked foundation or broken steps, build a family room or give you a finely detailed paint job. The list is endless, fix a leaky roof or give you a new one. We can clean your deck or design and build one for you. On the inside we can fix a cracked ceiling, install new tile or hardwood floor, re-side your house, replace your rotted trim, we have the experience you can count on. .

Sent out project proposal to three handyman contractors. One never responded, one responded five days after sending out proposal, Select Contracting responded within 24hrs of proposal request and came same day to do an walk through estimate.
Thought we agreed that work would start on Monday the 8th but didn't start until the 10th.1.Installation of Micro wave A+ work
2. Repair of kitchen cabinet - needed to be reattached -A+ work
3. Changeout of electrical outlets - only finished 1 of 3 - needed tools that didn't have with him - promised he'd come back to compleat - never returned C-work
4.replacement of old porch light with new light- installed upside down - its a lantern design - the upside down installation caused it to act as a rain gauge - light shorted out - apologized for installing upside down - promised would fix when fixed outlets - never returned D-work
5.replacement of flood light bulb - replaced but dosent work D-work
6. promised interior painting estimate and timeline for painint- never provided F-work
7. provided roof replacement estimate - because of performance on #3,4,5 and 6 decided to cut loses and not go with Select Contracting for new roof
Dos- This contractor had excellent reviews from Angie's List , don't know why such a mixed bag of quality of work and job performance for my projects. Once things went bad should have been a real " squeaky wheel" and push until things corrected. I gave up to soon and hired another handyman contractor (not on Angie's List) to complete/fix projects
They were great and have given their name to a couple of people.
I was completely satisfied.
My job was lot of little things that needed to be done but finding the time is tough, they came in an completed each item to my satisfaction and quickly.
