This is just one of a number of jobs that Perry Murphy has done for me. They are my very trusted, 'go-to' contractor. Art Murphy also handled building my three season back porch and putting in a high end kitchen for me. My family, friends and I have spent many, many happy hours enjoying the work he and his crew did. When the designer made a significant mistake, Art solved the problem both functionally and aesthetically. He's excellent. Any time I've needed him to come back, he's come quickly and tweaked whatever needed to be tweaked. I first heard about him when I saw that he was working on a high end house down the street. I asked the owner what he thought about the work because I was looking for a good contractor to do my kitchen. The owner said he couldn't say enough good things about Art and now I understand why. I highly recommend Perry Murphy.

Art Murphy, as the 'coordinator-in-chief' has assembled an incredibly experienced, professional and highly responsible crew. They started our job soon after we signed the proposal. The crew made amazing progress each and every day, with Art assisting, overseeing and coordinating the progression of the job on a daily basis. It was hard for us to believe that major construction was going on in the back of our house, because of their professionalism. Their work is outstanding, and they have far exceeded our expectations. They exhibited flexibility and made great suggestions when needed. We look forward to working with them again, as we upgrade other areas of our house. Perry-Murphy is, without a doubt, the absolute best building company in the north shore.

We hired Perry Murphy Construction to add a second floor addition to an existing first floor addition done 5 years earlier by another contactor. His attention to structural integrity was excellent. He found several instances where the first contractor had erred in constructing the first addition to support a later second story. He brought in a structural engineer to adjust the blueprints to add support beams to compensate for the first story limitations. He was also able to stabilize the floor of the first floor addition by adding the proper support blocks which the first contractor had omitted. Our addition was a 14 ft. by 25 ft. cathedral ceiling master suite with walk-in closet and bath with tiled shower and floor.  Within our budget we were allowed hardwood oak flooring throughout, solid wood 4-panel doors to match the rest of our 1849 house as well as solid porcelain knobs. Every one of the professionals he used from plumbers, electricians, insulators, plasterers, floor installers, painters and tilers were there on the scheduled day and stayed until their jobs were done. Art Murphy, the owner/contractor, was there every day by 8 am and stayed on site to oversee the work. Our job was his main priority and he was not satisfied unless we were. We wanted the addition from the exterior to blend in with the rest of our old house which meant using extra wide trim boards and custom made korbels for under the eaves. They accomplished this mission so well that many people stopped to ask us what we were having done to our house since they couldn't even tell the addition was new. There were no cost over runs which was a first for us in the building business. He did not desert us after the job was done following up with a few minor details like a missing screen. I highly recommend this contractor. We used him since to do window replacements and got the same high quality of work.

Simply the best customer service experience I've ever had with a construction company. Employees showed up on time, were neat and polite, worked with me around children's nap schedules, and made sure they were doing exactly what I wanted. The focus was on making us happy, and even months later when we called to ask about a door that was blowing open in storms they happily returned to fix the very minor issue...couldn't recommend highly enough!
