The work was absolutely horrible and the contractor left before completing the job.  He promised to return but never did.  We tried calling, emailing and texting him but he usually never returned his calls.  When we did finally reach him he said he would be over to take care of things and then never showed up.
His work was awful and we have had major problems with every single task he worked on.  He builds interior walls at 24" on center rather than 16" but he doesn't tell you that up front.  He claimed to use only the finest top-shelf materials but purchased the cheapest stuff you could ever find.  We were promised Pergo brand laminate flooring and got some bottom dollar bargain stuff he found at Home Depot then installed it with all kind of noticeable gaps between the floor pieces.  We contracted him to build an oak staircase and he used oak on the treads only and decided to use paintable primed pine for the rest.  He left his trash everywhere outside for us to clean up.  His subcontractor actually broke into our home through a window when we were out.  We had to go over and redo all of his work with additional contractors at our own expense.  We could never get him back to finish the work even though he promised us over and over he would return and fix everything.
