ABC Disposal is absolute trash. I put them up there in the top 3 worst companies I've ever dealt with. They have insane contracts designed to lock their customers into 3-year terms. The real insanity begins with the renewal clause: They auto-renew your 3-year contract for 3 more years unless you send in a letter by certified mail within 90 days before the contract ends. They send no renewal notices at all. Their prices are almost 2X the market rates of nearby competitors for the same exact service. To give you an idea, we were paying $450 a month for 2X pick-up a week on a 4-yard dumpster. The same exact service through another company (EOMS) is $322. I'm sure our rates would've been going up yet again with a late March 2021 renewal increase. They might start you off at a reasonable price but they'll jack up the price and lock you in. To get out, you have to pay 6 months severance. Their communication is abysmal. I sent several emails asking how to cancel and they didn't reply! I had to call them to get a copy of the contract to read about the certified mail clause. I sent the cancellation letter by certified mail and no one reached out! I sent several emails to several email addresses to follow up and no one responded! I had to pick up the phone and call them to schedule the final dumpster removal and cancel dates. When I told the sales guy their contract was way too restrictive and prices out of control, he did nothing to try and set up a simpler contract or offer a better price. Instead he tells me there will be a $75 removal fee. This is after we paid these guys over $40,000 in the past ~10 years. We scheduled the dumpster removal for 3/23/21 because the trash comes on Mondays and they have to send a separate truck on Tuesday. Well, today was Monday and I went outside and the dumpster was gone a day early! I'm sure it was a simple mistake, I guess, but it's salt in the wound — I can't really be surprised based on how ridiculousness of ABC. They do what's best for ABC. I had to call our new trash guy and he picked up on the first ring, knew my name, and scheduled his dumpster to come out a day earlier than planned. I'm sure the fight with ABC isn't over and they'll try to do something insane like bill us the 6-month severance; but I've (sadly) already tipped off our bookkeeper to cease any further payment to ABC beyond the $75 fee.
