It was a very professional experience. The worker arrived on time, and was respectful of the property. Kerivan-Lane was very helpful in submitting report forms.

I live on a street with no gas line. Moved into the house two years ago, knowing that it had a 40-year old boiler in the basement for all heating, and finally took the plunge to replace it. I got three quotes and Kerivan was in the middle, competitively priced. The main contact I worked with, Kevin, made me a lot more comfortable with the work than the cheapest contractor, so my wife and I decided to go with them. We piggy-packed a tile project on this -- Requested Kerivan to take out the boiler and clean up on one date, then install 5 days later, which gave us an opportunity to tile the entire room (which doubles as a laundry room.) Kerivan was very accommodating regarding the scheduling and helped us to plan the tile installation in a way to make the entire project successful. (The room looks great by the way, tiled.) Kerivan also helped me through the Mass Save program's process (I got a 0% loan to cover the boiler through the state's programs) and took care of rebates for the utility companies too (NStar offers rebates on new hot water heaters and also something called a "logomatic" control for the boiler which helps to regulate water temperature.) The installers were very friendly and professional. They took care to clean up after themselves and at several points called me into the boiler room to show me their progress and comment on the details of what they were doing. They did not chip or bother the tile installation at all. Overall, I'm very pleased with the company and would strongly recommend this group to anyone looking to replace a boiler or hot water system.

The crew that did the work arrived promptly every morning. They were polite, and they cleaned up when they were done.

The furnace was over fifty years old. I replaced the furnace, water heater, and oil tank on the hottest days of the summer. It was a messy job, but it all happened fast. I love the new computerized furnace.

Kerivan-Lane was very professional and explained everything beforehand. I took their recommendations for the boiler and burner and haven't had any problems. Their service is also prompt and they never try to hard-sell on unneeded work.

These guys are the best! I have used them for over 10 years and have only had exceptional service. They even stopped a fire from starting in my basement years ago when my family was away...they noticed black smoke from my chimney on a routine service call and broke in to investigate. The basement was full of smoke. They saved my pets and my house! Their work is always neat; their plumbers and techs are always professional. Hopefully they will go green towards the future as I just hate that we still rely on oil; but given that constraint, I would always highly recommend Kerivan Lane.

It went very well. The staff did a very professional job. There were a few adjustments that were required afterwards and Kerivan Lane were prompt in providing service.

The installation went very well. The installers arrived on time and helped me move any additional objects that were in the way of the installation. The technician was meticulous in the routing of the plumbing and wiring, which gives the furnace a neat, organized look. Once the installation was complete, the installer went over the system with me and described the advantages of the system. I was also left with a package that I could refer to at a later date, in case I had any questions on how the system operated. So far I have saved a significant amount of fuel oil over the last winter, compared to my previous boiler. The heating of the house is also much improved, without the swings in temperature that I experienced with my old system. I am extremely satisfied with the new system and would recommend Kerivan-Lane to anyone looking for a new heating system. The system that I had installed (Buderus) will save any homeowner significant $$$ in the coming years, especially since the price of heating oil keeps rising every year. A first-class installation and company - I'm very satisfied and will call on them for future business.

Absolutely excellent from start to finish.

They were always prompt, friendly, and professional. Several times, we had to have repairs done, either on our heating equipment, or on plumbing in a bathroom. I found their prices to be very fair, and the work was always done properly and promptly. I also liked that you could call and sometimes get the owner of the company on the phone without even asking for him- it made me feel as if he was really in touch with the day-to-day operations of the company- which is always a good thing. If we hadn't moved to an area that they don't service, we would still be using them- I have already switched companies in the 2 years we have lived in our new house. I highly recommend them.

They did a really nice job and we ended up with an oil contract. They are very prompt and one of the owners followed up both times with a phone call. They are professional and what you would want from a company.

We were quite happy with them. We switched because of service offerings, not bad work. Their prices were high.

This company gave me incorrect statistics. They do not have customer service skills. They try to sell you over priced add-ons for your system. I finally changed my oil furnace to natural gas.

The tuneup was scheduled to take place in a few days. The technician who did the job (I wish I had gotten his name) could not have been nicer. I told him that I'd just bought the house and didn't know anything about the system, or how to change the filter, etc. He showed me all over the whole system, showed me the fuel line, noticed that the oil gauge was broken, showed me how to change the air filter (including great detail about buying filters, how to open access the filter, how to shut off the system, etc.). He pointed out work I should have done later, like removing the old humidifier, etc. He was great!

I found a pinhole leak in a basement pipe at 7 one morning in December, one week after I closed on my house. I called Kerivan-Lane (my new oil company) at their emergency number. The man who returned my call told me how to turn off the main water (but the valve turned out to be broken, so the water just kept spraying) and said he'd send someone as soon as they showed up. When he called, employees were only just arriving for work that day. The plumber arrived at my house 45 minutes after I called. He fixed the leaking pipe, replaced the main shut-off valves with levers and was finished in less than an hour. He pointed out some pipes that might be problems potentially, and showed me how to operate the levers if this happens again. (I really liked that he didn't say WHEN it happens again, which I know it will...) Kerivan-Lane sends new oil customers a $50 voucher toward labor for plumbing work in the first 60 or 90 days, so this only cost me $36!

A plumber came by to assess the work and didn't get back to us for several months.

I have used them for two years and never had a problem with them before. I was selling this house, so the home inspector for the buyers came in and checked the boiler and said that I needed to clean my boiler. There was still sot in there and also said it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. This was after they supposedly did the work. I looked and in fact it did look like that. I was furious that they promised me that everything was clean and I relied on them being they are professionals. I think they were dishonest. If I could rate them something lower than an F, I would.

They are very prompt and reasonable. They are very responsive as well. I never have to call them because they kind of estimate the amount of cold days and then they call us when we need more oil. The price does not include the oil, just the service contract.

Kerivan-Lane Inc was wonderful and I would trust them with the keys to my house. They were on time and very professional. I was glad to see that they were very careful of my property. I'm very happy with the new furnace and am enjoying the hot water system which is much cleaner than what we had before. I've been paying them monthly on their credit plan.

I am not so happy with the plumbing work they did this time. They are usually pretty good. They need to come back because it s supposed to be an automatic drain pump, but I have to plug it and unplug it. The price was more than I expected. I would still recommend them to others.

We are Kerivan-Lane oil customers so we get a discount on plumbing. They forgot to discount us but fixed the problem right away after I called about the invoice. Kevin came out right away to give an estimate on the work, and scheduled it the next week as requested. The plumbers were fast, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves, but were really loud and talked incessantly.

We had a leak in the sewer pipe in our basement. K-L came the same day to take a look. They did end up fixing it, but it took a couple of visits; having to go back and get parts, and the first service man missed a big gash in the pipe that the second one pointed out to us. That required another order of parts and another week's wait. However, all of the workmen that we've encountered have been very professional, polite and willing to show and explain to us exactly what they've done. They've all been very good about cleaning up after themselves.

I am very pleased. I contacted them for new oil delivery service. They included a two year free service contract. They immediately scheduled an appointment. The technician was there at the beginning of the appointment window. He was very efficient and knowledgeable. He answered my questions and gave explanations. So far I am very impressed with this company.

Kerivan-Lane did not show up for either the first or second appointment that we scheduled with them. Furthermore, they didn't call us to let us know that they would not be here, we had to call them (repeatedly the first time as the time kept getting moved back). We felt like our time was completely disrespected, and were incredibly disappointed with the service, and the way that they conduct this end of their business. As a heating and plumbing service, their first priority is heating, and they seem quite responsive on that end. However, if you are a Kerivan Lane customer or are thinking of becoming one, and have any sort of plumbing problem or plumbing work planned for the winter, I would strongly recommend going with an independent plumber. The gamble of possible loss of time from work, and general frustration from missed appointments is simply not worth the lower hourly fee.
