Best home inspection I've ever experienced and I've purchased a few homes and used to be a realtor. John was extremely thorough and explained what he was doing and looking for every step of the way. He was professional, personable and very informative. It was very clear that he had expertise in all aspects of construction, maintenance and repair. His inspection includes a pest inspection so there's no need to hire a separate pest inspector. His report is very detailed and he makes himself available to answer follow up questions if needed. If I was still a realtor I would recommend him to all of my clients. He is a great inspector for a first time home buyer as he really explains how things work. Absolutely the best.

Our real estate agent referred us to John Tambascio to inspect our first home in November. To say his work is thorough is absolutely an understatement. He spent several hours going over every single inch of the property. He not only pointed out some important flaws that we then brought to the seller to negotiate, he also provided us with a 100+ page report including photographs of things to watch for and improve as homeowners. After our normal inspection was complete, two professionals from completely different companies who are trained to spot one of the issues that John found in our house expressed disbelief (seriously!) that he was able to find it with such a tiny amount of evidence, and that is what they both do professionally. This man can accurately analyze a piece of dust from a mile away. In addition to the care and expertise he brings, he keeps the inspection fun and gives detailed, informative explanations of everything he finds. We highly recommend his services and have already referred several friends and family members who were very impressed with his work. It gave me so much peace of mind as a first-time buyer to know that no stone was left unturned and to walk away with the tools and information to take the best possible care of our new place.

John was fantastic. He saved us $16,000 on our purchase because he discovered a rotted sill plate. He crawled all over our house and let us know everything that he found. He answered all our questions and promptly delivered his report. When we were buying our house John was only one of two people our broker recommended. Everyone that I have referred John to have been very pleased as well.

His service is great. He is on time, detailed, ready and goes the extra mile - giving you what you've paid for.

John is great. He did an inspection on our new house and barn, turning up many small details I'm sure other inspectors would have overlooked. He's very smart and a pleasure to talk to; his report was thorough and (since it was so clear and thorough) provided us with lots of leverage in negotiating with the sellers. He responded to follow-up questions even months after the job with courtesy and good humor. A+

I had called other inspectors on Wednesday and Thursday that I had found through my realtor and on AL. Noticed J.T. located in same town as property to be inspected. Called on Thursday and he made time for me on Sunday. Also arranged to place radon test Thursday night to accelerate the process for me. Did a good job of setting expectations over the phone about how the inspection process would go.
He arrived before I did. Inspection was thorough. I have home renovation experience but was very thankful I hired J.T., as he noticed many things I wouldn't have. His knowledge and attention to detail was impressive. He was good at explaining to me (an engineer) and my mother (an english teacher) alike.
The written report was good but not as good as the live inspection. There were a few content errors (items not applicable to my house apparently left over from the template) and grammatical errors, but no findings discussed in person were left off the report. Aside from helping me work with the seller on some major issues now, the report will serve as a "punch list" for me to work through to address the issues he identified.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the outcome of this transaction and would recommend JTHI to anyone.

We are very pleased with John's service and think he provided us with tremendous value. We decided to use John as our home inspector because he seemed very friendly and knowledgeable on the phone and he provided the best quote out of everyone we spoke with. From the start of the inspection we were extremely pleased with John. He was already at the building when we arrived, checking the outside of the structure. Throughout the inspection, he was extremely thorough, patient, and always ready to explain in simple terms what he was looking at and what problems (if any) he saw. I really liked how John put things in perspective so you would understand why he was pointing something out to you. He also gave an understanding about how concerning issues were and how to go about correcting problems. John also had a nice demeanor and sense of humor about things that made the entire experience very enjoyable. After the inspection, John not only sent us our report very quickly, but the report itself was exceptional. We found the report to be as through and professional as the inspection, and included summaries of what he found as well as recommendations about how to fix any problems encountered. Again, we are extremely pleased with our experience with John and plan to recommend him to anyone we know looking to buy or sell a house.

I actually was reading the Angie's List magazine that is sent to my house and saw John profiled as a new home inspector. I was compelled to review John as I had a great experience with him, but I have not included the pricing as he was working for another company at the time so that would not be relevant. John was punctual, professional, personable and extremely thorough. He was happy to answer all of our questions as this was our first house and so there was a learning curve for us. I would recommend John in a heartbeat and I wish him luck in his business.

John was able to come the next day to review my home. He was extremely thorough in all aspects. He discovered potential issues for future home buyers with my electrical service, home "settling" issues, roofing concerns, and radon issues (paid extra for testing). Although not always welcome to hear, at least I am educated to address future buyer's concerns. John was knowledgeable and eager to answer all my questions.
