Chestnut Street Animal Hospital

Dr. Kelsey is a horrible vet! I took my dog in to Chestnut Street Animal Hospital because my dog had injured his leg.  I had taken him in a couple of days before this and the vet-on-call felt it was only soft tissue damage and recommended that the dog not be x-rayed at that time, but see how he does over the next couple of days.  I brought the dog back 2 days later and told the vet that I wanted x-rays to be taken.  They were unable to do it because the dog needed to be sedated.  I brought him back first thing the next day so that they could do this.  Dr. Kelsey was the vet-on-call and thought it was not an injury, but instead Lyme Disease.  Before calling us, She charged us $52.50 for a lyme disease test we didn't authorize. They didn't even x-ray our dog until 2 in the afternoon, even though we dropped him off at 8 am keeping my diabetic dog in misery.  Finally after paying an additional $45 to have the x-rays read stat, at 4 pm we were told that the dog had in fact had a fractured tibia. They sent us over to Angell Memorial to have the dog splinted because they were not able to do it there... but only after I payed the bill.  She also padded the bill with $70 for a physical exam we didn't ask for and $29.40 for half day hospitalization which wasn't needed if they did the x-ray when they should have! I will never go back there again!!!

She listens carefully and talks to the dog, like she really cares. She does her best and has a positive approach towards her patients. She did everything to save my dog and be a part of my family. I like her services and will use the same in future.

I will report on all the years of veterinary services: I have found both Dr. Medley and Dr. Kelsey to be excellent doctors, knowledgable and kind and honest about my dog's condition. I trust them completely. The staff at Chestnut Street are very good with Mackie, very gentle with an old dog. I highly recommend Chestnut Street Animal Hospital.

My insurance thinks CHESTNUT STREET ANIMAL HOSPITAL charges me too much. I think they are pretty expensive, but they are very convenient. I think they are very pleasant and kind. They have been there for my previous and current dog. They are very expensive, but I think it is hard to compare their convenience.

It was an emergency situation. So they were very responsive and took good care of our dog. It was convenient and clean. They were very kind and supportive in an emergency situation. We didn’t end up having to pay because it was an accident that had happened, but the price was $300.

The veterinarians at the Chestnut Street Animal Hospital are wonderful. They are very good with the animals. They are very patient in understanding the problems. They provide wonderful service and it couldn’t be better.

As far as the pricing, I do not have anyone to compare it with, but to me it is great. I have been using their services for years. I have always been pleased with the level of care they give to animals.
