For safety reasons we needed to replace the crumbling front steps to our 160 year old small Victorian house. We were looking to add granite steps and a paved walkway. Belmont's mason did a beautiful job, figuring how to blend the new and old. The walk and steps now look like they have always been there. There were a couple of minor problems, but these got fixed after a phone call or two.

John Gilbert stopped by shortly after I called and provided a timely estimate for the work.  He was able to add me to their work calendar relatively quickly.  Two guys came to do the work and it took about a day and a half.  The trees look great and the workers cleaned up the yard.  I did have two small complaints about the job.  First, I asked them to leave the wood to save money on the removal cost plus I could burn it in my fireplace.  Belmont Tree said they would cut everything to roughly a 16" length.  Unfortunately, they left most limbs in much longer lengths so I had to then cut myself.  Second, I asked that they put all the wood under the white pines in my yard but instead they left it along my fence.  I then had to roll the trunk pieces myself.  Not the end of the world but I was a little annoyed because my instructions were clear.  But for the price, I was pleased with their work and would use them again.

They are on Angie's List and we began using them last winter for snow plowing, lawn care and garden work. They have been giving us excellent help and they show up on time when they say they will. They have a wonderful guy working for them as a garden expert. I think they added him this year so it is a good move.

We had a large tree limb fall onto our deck; the tree was dead/dying. They were the only firm that came quickly to give us an estimate and rearranged their schedule so that they could get the tree removed before a scheduled storm hit. They worked well with our neighbors - they had to use the driveway of the house behind ours to get to the tree - and even left the neighbor some wood (at her request) for her use next winter. The other firm that gave us an estimate quoted 50% more and were unwilling/unable to do it until 2 weeks later. I only wish that they had cut the tree a little closer to the ground, but in reality I don't even know if that was possible.

I called John after one company never returned my calls and another had a 3 month backlog and high prices. John came out the next day and looked at a number of very large trees that needed dead wood removed. I received a quote within days and a target date of service two weeks away. The crew worked for 5 hours using a variety of methods to prune the trees without driving on my lawn. They cut firewood to length and piled it up in a convenient location. To finish, they raked and swept to leave my yard in good shape.

I had tried at least 15 landscaping companies and Belmont was one of the only ones that showed up to give an estimate and came to do the work. I gave a sigh of relief thinking I had found a responsive and quality place. They did a good job with initial clean up and were very courteous and friendly. However, after that I had to constantly send emails to see when they were coming to do maintenance. They charged $45 to mow a small patch of grass in the back yard and a little on the side of the house. It probably took them five minutes to mow the lawn. Now that is it fall I have asked for fall leaf clean up and provide an estimate to do some work in my front yard. They have been unresponsive. They are started out pretty well but completely petered out.

He kept canceling the days he was scheduled to work. He was not very professional when he didn't show up. I came home and they were trying to move my car.

We were quite satisfied with this punctual and easy to work with company. They do what they say they will do when they say they will do it. We were even more pleased that they reduced our prices since they are doing the work during a less hectic time of the year.

A construction project necessitated the reshaping and re-grading of our entire back yard. There were several confounding factors that made this especially challenging. The landscaper, cat operator, and earth mover-driver worked with the landscape architect and the work was done well and beautifully.

The agreement was to do as much pruning as could be done in one work day for one thousand dollars. Three trees were were of specific concern, Despite being paid to do as much as could be done in a day, the crew arrived after nine and left at around 2:30, saying that they'd done all there was to do. In reality, much was left undone and I wound up overpaying for the work they did do.
