WAYNE TOWLE: MASTER FINISHING & RESTORATION INC

For the first round I needed several pieces of furniture refinished/repaired because of scratches. One they repaired in my home and did a good job. Two they took to their shop and I didn't hear from them for a very long time. After complaints we agreed on a date when it was absolutely essential for them to get the key piece for my living room back because I had visitors coming. When that date arrived nobody showed. They brought it back later. They were very expensive but the quality of work was good. Then, in February 2020, I sent them another piece, an end table from a bedroom. It had a scratch on the plain black top surface. They just needed to repaint the white scratch on the black surface. Now it's August, half a year later. I haven't heard from them. When I email them and ask for my end table back, I get no reply.

There was a much more expensive option which involved disjointing and repining.  I decided against it.  They do very good and expensive work.

My general contractor recommended Wayne Towle because of work the company had done in previous homes in which he had worked.  After obtaining several bids, we decided to use Wayne Towle as this company seemed comfortable with the scope of the project. The company spent appropriate time up front preparing and protecting the surrounding structures before embarking on the refinishing process.  Our refinisher, Tim, came promptly every morning at 7 am and worked tirelessly throughout the day.  He was pleasant and addressed all of our questions and concerns.  He worked with us to make an intrusive process bearable. The finished project is so beautiful that we do not want to walk on the stairs.
The only hiccough in the process was in the beginning after we had decided to proceed and had signed the contract which delineated the costs .  The owner then sent us another contract that addressed the cost of lead removal and clean-up. I wondered why this was not included in the original estimates of cost; it seemed to be an afterthought. But overall, the workmanship was superior and we are happy.

The experience was not complicated. There was a detailed write up of what the refinishing process entailed and I delivered the table to them. It took about 4 weeks.

We've used Wayne Towle over the past ten years to dip strip various 80-year old double hung windows, doors and moldings in our house. The people at Wayne Towle are careful to explain risks and alternatives beforehand. They've always finished work on schedule. The results are amazing, well worth the cost. The first time we dip stripped windows was 10 years ago. Our experiences have been positive. We haven't observed any problems with glue joints weakening. Dip stripping raised wood grain slightly, but nothing a quick sanding couldn't fix.

I WAS EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH THE END RESULT. I LOVE MY CHAIRS AND WILL RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO EVERYONE I KNOW. THEY REALLY ARE ONE OF THE MOST PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES I'VE WORKED WITH. THEY CALLED ME BACK RIGHT AWAY AND GOT BACK TO ME IMMEDIATELY WHENEVER I HAD A QUICK QUESTION. THEIR PRICING IS VERY FAIR AND THEY ARE UPFRONT ABOUT HOW LONG THE PROCESS WILL TAKE. THE STAIN AND GLAZE ON MY CHAIRS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! I WILL DEFINITELY USE THEM AGAIN. I WORKED WITH DEBBIE TOWEL AND JULIE - BOTH GREAT GALS.

THEY ARE EXPENSIVE, BUT ARE THE BEST AROUND AND WORTH EVERY CENT.

THEY WERE EXCELLENT ON THE REFINISHING BUT THE RESTORATION ON ONE OF THE PIECES WAS FAIR. THEY WERE GOOD ON THE PHONE AND PROFESSIONAL DURING PICKUP AND DELIVERY. I WOULD NOT USE THEM FOR SERIOUS RESTORATION WORK.
