The major issue with the job performed was the misrepresentation of the total hours worked & resulting final labor charge.  On the final visit, his workers, who are professional & hard working, were only on-site for 55 minutes, as they rang the doorbell in the morning at 8AM when they started & I happen to be leaving my house when they finished picking up all the leaves an hour later.  When the bill arrived, they charged me for 2 full hours of labor, which was $288.  Terry indicated it took a full hour to drive to the local dump & dump the leaves.  I could have lived with 30 minutes to dump the leaves, even though realistically it probably took 10-15 minutes tops, but a full hour is not acceptable.  Terry didn't give me an explanation as to why I was charged a full hour for something that should have taken 15 minutes to accomplish.  Consequently, I won't use TJ Collins in the future.  It's too bad as the quality of work is excellent.

The company not only did an amazing job at our house but they stepped in when another landscaper had to cancel and we were faced with a time sensitive situation where we needed the house cleaned up in the next 2 days  for a big event.  Terry and Joe not only were polite, professional, but also sympathetic and calm to my call when I probably sounded a bit frazzled.  They did a wonderful job at the house, starting early enough so that by the time people arrived they were just putting the finishing touches on. They exceeded my expectations with their thoroughness and attention to detail. The yard looked amazing, and considering the limited time frame I gave them to both fit the job in and get the work done everything looked superb.

I used TJ Collins Landscaping for 2 fall clean-ups over the last couple months at my house in Needham.  Terry is fast and professional.  Gave me a quick run-through of all of his services and cost in person and had a crew over to perform the services within a week.  Good price and good service. Will work with him in the future.

I needed escalating done on a home improvement project (building a shed). I received a recommendation from Joe Fiorentino of Archadeck and I’m glad I did. The project consisted of removing a railroad tie retaining wall, clearing out about 10 yards of dirt and removing a huge tree stump. Once that was complete crush stone/concrete ready “pad” was prepared and some foundation pole holes were prepped. Terry was a pleasure to work with. I scheduled an early morning meeting in February and although a blizzard had just hit the day before he came to meet me as planned. We discussed the job and he was able to supply a firm quote on the spot. We scheduled the work for early April 2013 and Terry and his crew did not miss a beat. Terry was flexible in that he was willing to discard the railroad ties in a dumpster I had rented saving an extra haul away fee of about $300. We ran into on issue with a retaining wall that had some rebar in it so that was a reasonable extra fee of $150.. For the amount of equipment needed and the labor involved I received a good value but more importantly they did the jobs as needed and removed a difficult stump without causing a “sink hole” which could have happened if the stump was not removed carefully and properly. I was happy with the work and I ended up having Terry come back in August 2013 to add some hardscape features to my home improvement project witch I plan to submit a separate review on given the nature of that skilled work.

No great from start to finish...If I hadn't been home I would have been more disapointed.
