Dishonest and unprofessional company.
Winters sent a tech to trouble shoot why my Weil McLain Water heater had water running out of the bottom . The tech identified that the heat exchanger had a hole in the exhaust, that he had seen the issue before, and that its due to the heat exchanger running low on water.
He then gave me a quote for $3000 to replace the heat exchanger (which he called Weil McLain and got a warranty claim approved), and another $500 to replace the components he said had caused the "Low water level" in the boiler.
Taken back by the price, i started looking online and found several others have had this problem and that it is in fact a design defect that Weil has since corrected with a new design. NOTHING TO DO WITH $500 worth of other parts he wanted to sell.
Then after several other quotes found that the replacement heat exchanger averaged $500-$750 in labor to replace, which I was happy to award to a DIFFERENT provider other than WINTERS COMPANY out of Cambridge. Avoid them if you want to avoid being ripped off.
