McKenzie Plumbing & Heating

I am so happy that we met and hired Colin, and McKenzie Plumbing and Heating, for our large addition. From the very begining Colin has been exceptional! Our project isn't easy and he never gets discouraged. We added 1400 sq ft of radiant heat, a new boiler and water heater. master bath and laundry while replumbing the old house to the new system. He is also advising and installing our outside kitchen system and gas lighting. He can do it all! When unexpected things happen he deals with it calm, cool and collected. He's offered knowledgeable advice on things we needed to know, agreed with us when things would work and disagreed, with an offered solution, when they wouldn't. He gives you the straight scoop, tells you what he and his team can do and then delivers. His crew are also exceptional. Glenn and Terry have been very hardworking, diligent, clean and respectful. We've been living through this addition and they have been mindful of keeping us informed when things are being turned on and off and have tried to keep it to a minimum. They are always early to the job and late to leave with a smile and a happy whistle. There are a couple other men whose names I didn't catch who also have been top notch workers to have in and around our home. Everyone feels like family at this point. I literally have not one bad thing to say about Colin and all the workers with McKenzie Plumbing and Heating. They have been a godsend.

Colin McKenzie did a superb job. He's very conscientious and knowledgeable, and was resourceful in handling a couple of tricky challenges.

The person who came was pleasant and very efficient. He warned me that the kitchen faucet was going to continue to be a problem and that I would need to replace the faucet. Since it's not very old, that was not happy news and his prediction has come true, it has come loose and begun to leak again. I found the cost high, but I think that plumbers are very expensive and I don't feel qualified to say that it was unreasonable for the work that was done.

It went great! Quick, efficient and professional. Will definitely call him again when needed.

All jobs performed with no problems on my end, they came when I expected them, cost was reasonable.

When I called Colin he answered himself and I explained our problem. He was very good about giving me a ballpark estimate over the phone, but asked me to text a picture and said he would follow up via phone to make an appointment. He was very responsive and came by to fix the problem. He offered several alternatives and his fee plus parts was very reasonable. Everything looks good and works well now. He and his brother Glenn were both extremely personable and easy to deal with. We've had other plumbers in the past but these guys are just super. From now on McKenzie is our go-to plumber!

Appointment was delayed for a week after call. Luckily weather cooler didn't need ac. Arrived promptly and replaced ac capacitor. Amost $300. Way high. Recommened replace expansion tank, another $300, including add cost to go to shop for tank. No charge for flush. (Gee thanks) To expensive. Won't use their services again.

Since most plumbers in my area aren't open on Saturday, Colin was a lifesaver. He was very efficient, professional, honest and overall a really nice guy. He even texted me to let me know when he was on his way. His prices are reasonable (with the coupon it was $2090 for a brand new water heater and installation), and even gave me a quick quote for another project I might do in the future. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I think he came like the same day so he was very quick in his responsiveness. It was our only place to shower, so even though he had something else going on he was still able to come. The worker was extremely friendly. They left the area clean.

I called yesterday & they found the time to fit me in the next day. Professional, reasonably priced & great work.

Colin and his brother came out several times (fit us in the schedule and worked around the install schedule of a new bathroom countertop). They showed up when they said they would, went right to work and finished quickly. I would definitely use them again.

They did an okay job installing the water heater. But after it's done, it took them forever to get it inspected (4 months in my case after countless messages). A couple weeks after the inspection was performed, I found that the power cord to the pump was cut, causing a flood in the basement. Go figure. *USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK*

I had an emergency situation with no water in the house due to frozen pipes early Sunday morning. McKenzie Plumbing and Heating was the only company that answer the phone. Collin was very patient and he immediately addressed the problem. I was very pleased (and relieved!) that the problem was solved. I highly recommend McKenzie Plumbing and Heating!

When everyone abandoned me on a Friday evening, McKenzie took time of his busy schedule when I explained him the seriousness of the situation and promised to help me with it. He showed up promptly on time and completed the job with utmost professionalism and charged me reasonably.
It started on a Friday morning, when the water filter in my finished basement started leaking heavily and it did not have a bypass valve. I called several plumbing companies from Angie's List and all my efforts to get someone to fix it went futile, with most of them saying its Friday and less personnel. Finally, I called McKenzie plumbing and even though he was working at a different site, he immediately asked me to send few pictures of the leaking filter and the piping around it, to his mobile. I sent it to him and after assessing it, he called me back and promised me that he would complete it today and would show up at around 2.30 P.M. Like he said, he arrived at my house on time and started working on it right away.
He shut the valve and removed the leaking water filter, cut the excessive pipes out, joined them with an extension pipe, since it was a quarter inch copper pipe, he sealed the joints by welding it with a torch and sealant. Wiped it clean and made sure that the joints were water tight without any leaks and also cleaned up the place. 
I addition to the actual job, he also helped me with a small leak at one of the pipe joints in the basement. He removed the joint, sealed it with proper sealant and rejoined the pipes.
Overall it was a pleasant experience with Mckenzie and liked his work. I would definitely call him for any future plumbing work and recommend him to my friends.

Tried first to help over the phone to avoid the cost of a service call. When problem required visit, he came out right away and fixed quickly. I would definitely call on McKenzie again.

He was good. He did a really good job. Everything is nice and neat in there.

We are finishing a closet in our master bedroom and our contractor recommended we hire Colin of McKenzie Plumbing and Heating to move some pipes so that we could expand the closet space.   Colin gave us an in-person estimate that seemed fair.  He was able to schedule the work within a few days of our accepting his quote.  He completed it this morning, and the job went smoothly if ever there was one.  He cleaned up well and removed the excess debris/pipes.  Seems friendly and trustworthy as well.  I'd highly recommend him.
