although on one occasion they needed some prompting to try to fill in a deep gash in the leather. It looked better after the second attempt. Glad to have them in the neighborhood

He understood what was needed right away. Asked if a week would be ok for time to do the shoes. He was professional and courteous. The shoes were done on time and were also polished when received.

When I took the coat in it had a tear by the pocket which I wanted sewn. He said he could fix that and also showed where the other pocket was starting to do the same thing. Both pockets were sewn up. The smaller tear you can't even see anymore. The other one is repaired as best as one could do, and is only noticeable if you really look. I was told he would open the lining and to sew it, but when I got home and really looked inside, I found that he had just sewn through the lining. It's an old coat, so it's not a big deal, just wish he had told me. My boots had gotten water damage and had a water ring on them. He showed me how the sole was wearing out also, so I agreed to fix both. The boots look like new now. I was told he would call when they were ready, about a week. After 2 weeks I called and was told they were ready. He is a little on the gruff side, but does wonderful work, which is more important in the long run. Apparently the building he was in burned down, so he is now located in the front of the hardware store.
