Since there was no clause in the contract about what would happen if she decided to break it, and no vendors had been booked through her, we asked her to value her work and return the rest, believing this was reasonable. While she agreed at first, she later advised us that, in six weeks, she felt the value of the work she had done was actually more than the deposit of half the full amount of planning services. Keep in mind, there were still 10 months left before the wedding. If you do the math, something doesn't add up. She also leaned on the fact that the retainer was non-refundable, as stated in the contract. I would understand if we had decided to break the contract, but the contract was broken on Danielle's part. If the retainer was non-refundable in that situation, it would mean she could sign contracts, break them, and keep deposits as often as she wanted... In the end, we ended up having to go to small claims court, and a year after having booked her, we had half our money back. We would suggest all couples be wary of this vendor, because judging from our experience, you may not get what was advertised on her website: "making you feel like you are our only client," "providing the kind of attention that makes you feel as if you are planning your event with your most trusted friend."

Wonderful to work with Danielle!!  I would highly recommend her.  She offers great advice.  She remains calm and collected at all times.  I feel that she really knew how to listen to my thoughts/goals/ dreams for the event and to help me tailor my plans toward that.  Our celebration was WONDERFUL thanks to her.
