The job itself was done pretty well. One of the new door knobs is still a little sticky, so I may need to have him return. Also, we'd just had the door painted on the outside - he'd used a smaller knob to replace the old one, so the paint job around the new knob looks messy, but we didn't realize this until after he'd gone. Otherwise the guy presented himself and performed professionally. The big problem was communication between him and the dispatcher, who told us he'd arrive in 20-25 minutes, but was more like 3 hours. We weren't locked out of our house, but if we had been, then that 3 hours would've seemed like an eternity. And this all took place after Irene, and we had no power, and this was just one more unexpected nuisance during an already difficult week. And finally the price. It's not like I get locks and doorknobs changed often, so what do I know - I really have no frame of reference. But I certainly didn't expect to spend close to $400 to replace 2 doorknobs. Bottom line, these guys get a B at best from me. Not bad, but there are too many A services out there to choose from. if I ever need a new doorknob or get locked out of my house, I'll sooner try someone else.
