First of all, Andrew Courtney arrived in-person and on-time to provide a fair, accurate, and detailed quote. In our experience, this contrasts with many other contractors, several of whom were rude, uncommunicative, and over priced.
When we started the project, we intended to have Andrew and his team install a first floor bathroom in our newly purchased home. After many discussions with my wife, we actually had a completely different plan when Andrew arrived to begin work. Unphased, Andrew listened to our new plan (Install new French doors and re-construct the main stair case) and asked questions that made us, as new homeowners, feel valued as clients. When it came time to make difficult decisions, Andrew was willing to discuss options based on our budget. Our home is a 1890s farmhouse,and turned out to have many complications along the way (uneven floors, walls that were out of plumb, etc.) but throughout the project Andrew remained positive and focused. As the project progressed and our move-in deadline approached, Andrew was flexible with his scheduling, and worked to ensure that we were able to move into our new house on time.
In the end, my wife and I are happy with the quality and professionalism of Red Hammer Builders and would recommend this company to anyone considering home renovations or custom building.
Note ? We?ve actually already hired Red Hammer Builders back for a second project (installing our kitchen cabinets, framing out the kitchen window, and installing a new range hood).
