Kevin was NEVER on time. Often, his wife called to cancel an appointment hours or days later. A few months in, he changed the payment schedule such that he would finish 70% of one segment and then demand money for that section of the contract. He once left for a 2-3 week ski vacation in the dead of winter, while our walls were open and leaking heat, waiting on him to finish the wiring. He didn't bother to tell us how long he would be gone and was astonished when we were angry at his return. He also once skipped a day of work to give my cousin an estimate on her house. In the end, he stopped returning calls and didn't complete the remainder of the work since we only owed him the final $1K of the project, and the materials to do the remaining work cost more than that. Low pricing wasn't worth the pain, and he didn't make good. What work he did complete was of reasonable quality but not worth the time and aggravation. Two years later, we are still picking up the pieces.
Description of Work: Work that was supposed to be completed was an electrical service upgrade of a two-family house, rewiring of a kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment room, installation of a subpanel on the second floor, installation of various lights throughout the house, all detailed on a contract dated 10/2004. Work completed two years later (after 90% of price paid) was an electrical upgrade of half the house service, rewiring of the kitchen and entertainment room, installation of a subpanel, and installation of some lights. The contract was never completed, but two years later, we decided we were done being patient and sent certified mail to cancel the remaining work on the contract so that we could get a new permit with an ethical electrician.
