Excellent. The cleaning went routine as expected. Then Jeff brought to my attention the previous service provider had cranked up the fuel oil consumption. Well, that would have been my ex oil provider. Jeff believes we should save about 100 gallons a year now.

Exceptional service provided by Surefire Heating! Jeff and his team were remarkable! Jeff came out first and gave a detailed estimate of the job. He was professional, knowledgeable and personable. He was on time and provided me with several equipment and payment options. Jeff also discovered some drastic ash build-up in my chimney in the cellar and assisted me in cleaning it out (no charge!!). This guy is awesome! The day of the job Jeff and team arrived on time and completed the job in one day! Jeff and team removed my ancient gas boiler (over 40 years old and the star of Stephen King's The Shining) and replaced it with a brand new efficient model. The minute that Jeff started it up it began to save me hundreds in heating costs! Not to mention it heated my house in no time! I required an aluminum chimney liner which was also installed quickly, efficiently and professionally! His estimate of the work and price were right on. He arrived on time and removed our old units and replaced them with the new units and even found and fixed things in our current system that needed to be done. I would definitely hire him again for all my cooling and heating needs.

Jeff Heikkila was responsive, professional, and prompt. We are absolutely delighted with our new and modern water heater. Jeff reworked the connections, updated the valves and pipework, and also replaced some failing components on our furnace and in the process re-tuned its overall operation so it uses much less oil than before. The service went very well. Mr. Heikkila found that the transformer for the ignition system needed replacement. He had the part with him and successfully installed a new transformer. He also pointed out that the gray color of the oil filter indicated that there was water in the storage tank and that it was possible the tank could fail in the near future. Despite the problems Mr. Heikkila got the furnace up and running. He even contributed five gallons of the heating oil to my sister-in-law, as he realized there were financial difficulties related to the household.

Jeff installed a new oil tank outside and furnace in the basement and removed the old ones, he did it in a very clean and professional manner and to this day whenever we need services or a question he answers my emails and phone calls in a quick fashion, which with a baby is very appreciative. I will continue using surefire for as long as we stay in the area

 I had a problem with water consistently dripping from the discharge valve on my furnace. The heating coils in the furnace were worn and corroding. I went off the tankless system and had Jeff install a new stainless steel water heater. By doing so, it also reduced my oil costs as opposed to keeping it on the old system. Jeff was very knowledgeable and fully explained the problem and what needed to be done to correct it. He was prompt and arrived on the day he said he would be there. He worked efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly after the work was performed.

So happy that we chose to go with Jeff at Surefire Heating!  We had noticed a couple of problems with our heating system this season and other companies we called weren't able to come out for 2-3 weeks.  Jeff was able to schedule a maintenance service just a couple of days after we called.  While doing the service on our old furnace, he informed us that there was a crack in the heat exchanger and that it would need to be replaced soon.  He seemed to be honest and trustworthy but we obtained a second opinion just to be sure and they confirmed Jeff's initial assessment.  He provided us with his estimate and recommendation for replacement quickly and was able to schedule the work to be done within a week even during the busy season.  On the day of service, he arrived promptly with a small crew of 2 other guys to help transport the unit into the house.  They took care he to lay out drop cloths to protect the carpeting.  We had initially expected the work to take a full day but things went very smoothly and he was able to complete the work in only half a day for the exact amount that had been quoted.  We were impressed with his knowledge, expertise, friendliness, and professionalism.  We can't recommend him highly enough and will definitely be using him for all our HVAC needs in the future!

Most of the work was performed by owner Jeff Heikkila with some help on the first day to remove and set up the new boiler as these are very heavy units.  Jeff was very responsive in providing the estimate for the work.  His quotation was very competitive against two other local full service firms, and he provided superior quality components at a slightly lower price.  Surefire Heating therefore provided the best value.  Jeff was very responsive and punctual throughout the entire installation and post-installation process.  Jeff made several visits after the system was set up.  One was to address a few minor details from the electrical inspector and one was to answer some questions I had on the operation of the new system.  Surefire Heating is a quality oriented company and Jeff takes great pride in his work and strives to meet customer expectations.  Jeff was also helpful in providing the required information to submit for rebates on the boiler and hot water heater through MassSave/NStar.  I would highly recommend Surefire Heating.

Jeff showed us the system he recommended and explained how the system would work and how it would save us in heating costs. We received the estimate the next day and he told us he could start the work on the following Monday. We found the estimate to be very reasonable and we agreed to the work, We definitely made the right decision in choosing Jeff. He was very professional and friendly, extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions, always punctual, did everything he promised to do, and the work is compact and neat. AA house we were interested in buying needed a new boiler according to our home inspector.  Jeff was the person we had come out to give us an approximate cost to replace the unit.  We did end up buying the house and called Jeff back to give us a formal quote.  We also called about 4 other companies.  Jeff's quote was so so much lower than the others that we were very skeptical about using him. After looking at his reviews on Angies List, we decided he would be worth the shot.  We were pleasantly surprised.  Communication was good, work was done ontime and on budget.  He takes pride in what he does and it shows.  Wouldnt hesitate to hire him again and would definitely recommend him to anyone.

We called Jeff because he came highly recommended to us a few years ago.  He installed our new oil heating system and did such a great job we decided to call him back when our hot water heater was leaking.  It was long overdue to be replaced as it was very old and we were told by two or three different people that it was working on borrowed time. 
He gave us a good price, so we hired him to do the job.  He had told me when he installed the oil system that the old piping was a mess (the house is 75 years old and no doubt has been worked on many times by different contractors) and he said some other time he would clean it up if we would like him to. 
He showed up on time with extra piping and fixtures and told me it would take about three hours to do as he was going to install the new heater as well as clean up a lot of the old piping work.  I asked him if this was going to cost me any more money and he told me it was included in the price he gave me. 
It did take him almost three hours, but what a difference it made!  He stuck to the original estimate and we were very happy with the way it looked when he was finished.  The tank takes up less room than the old one did and the additional new piping makes the whole area look neat and clean. Jeff definitely takes pride in his work.  I would hire him again in heartbeat.

We called Jeff at Surefire heat to help us with an issue we were having with our noisy baseboards when the heat was running.  He also took a good look at our system and noticed some obvious problems, and also the fact that it was overall very inefficient and barely sufficient for the size of the house.  He was the third person to tell us this, so we knew it was a legitimate problem and we had to bite the bullet and replace the boiler and install a new indirect hot water heater.  We chose to go with Jeff/Surefire for this project because of his great reviews on Angie's List, and also because he seemed very straightforward and trustworthy (which is rare in the industry).  We made the right choice.  He gave us a fair quote/estimate, and he stuck to it.  He worked quickly and quietly and accomplished a major job in just over one day.  Everything was cleaned up and ready to go when he was done.  He also worked with us to make sure we had the right information to get the rebates from the state on our purchase (he was patient and understanding through several calls and emails to make sure we were doing everything correctly, which we appreciate, because it saved us 10% of the cost).
We would recommend Jeff and Surefire to anyone in a heartbeat.

Jeff was great to work with.  We were able to discuss the options that were available for our project with Jeff giving the pros and cons of the options.  He kept in communicaiton and was quick to respond to questions leading upto the project.  During the installation he showed up on time, worked quickly and professionally through installation.  His final work was clean and professional.  The work area was cleaned up and all I had to do was set the thermostats.  I would recommend Jeff/Surefire to anyone looking to do service or an upgrade.

He showed up on time with a friend who helped him do the job. He had it done in less than one day. It was a big job and I was home the entire time. He cleaned up and left the place the same way he found it. He answered all my questions when it was finished. The entire communication (via phone and email both) was very good. The boiler is working great and we even have heat coming from all the radiators on the second floor now. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
