Was delayed in starting project, expected it to be started in July, but was not started until late September. Kept us fully informed when his 'regular' drywall guy became unavailable to do the drywall repairs. Did provide another person to do the work. It is clear now looking at the ceiling sections that were replaced that that they were patched. The person who did the ceiling paint used wall paint rather than ceiling paint, didn't realize this until after the job was done, would have preferred ceiling paint. All the people in his crew were pleasant and seemed to know what they were doing.

See note above. Services were not provided and I didn't actually go to his location but this survey is forcing me to answer questions in order to submit the review. I feel that strongly about his nature and work ethic that I wanted to post the comments.

I was very pleased with the work and when they found hidden issues they were handled the same day. Clean up was done very well. ALL I can say is I recommend using them which I don't do lightly.

I must say that Jim (the owner) and all of his sub-contractors were a pleasure to work with! I had been through a very stressful time dealing with all of the water damage and going back and forth with insurance and Jim was right there to answer any and all questions I had about the estimate and what was going to be required to get everything done. It was a long process and Jim was very patient and agreed to do the work, even after 5 months had passed, due to back and forth conversations with insurance. The windows came first, and the window crew did such an awesome job! They were great about explaining everything and telling me all about the new windows and keeping me informed on everything they were doing. It was evident that they were all very passionate about the work they do! The next step was getting the drywall and plaster done. This process was seamless as well! The guys came in and had everything completed in half a day. The kitchen was then completed and Jim was great about making sure that all of the finishes were done just as I had envisioned them. The final phase was having the whole house re-painted. The painting job was fantastic! I couldn't have asked for better quality work! Jim was always checking in during each stage of the process, to make sure everything was running smooth. I also have to add that I was so impressed with Jim's responsiveness during this whole process. I would email him, and would get a response right away. Jim was always great at explaining everything he was doing and why, which was huge. Jim is a true professional and takes great pride in the work he does and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to do a home improvement project. I am looking forward to having him back to do some other projects on the house in the near future!

Very professional and a great job done in all the repairs. Vinyl siding perfect match in color and could not tell in the least any repair needed to be done. The painting was flawless. Beantown was clean and fast. They left everything spotless. My neighbors used them for their painting too

Beantown's crew and work exceeded our expectations. Jim knew just how to handle this huge job, not a detail was missed. Our house is older, and presented some challenges, but the team had the skill and experience to give new life to our 100+ year old home. We are thrilled with the results, and look forward to a much warmer winter! We will definitely call Beantown again for future projects, and highly recommend them.

Beantown Home Improvements did a very efficient, timely, and thorough job. The owner Jim is so organized he should give lessons in time management and planning. He juggles all his sub contractors with ease and he kept me well informed if there were any hiccups. The subcontractors were in general a great group of construction talent. He also was accomodating with my summer schedule.

It was going swimmingly...until Tim saw that the frame around my front door was bowed. UGH! So therefore the storm door did not close tightly and "weatherproofingly" tightly. He assessed the situation and off he went for some beading. The frame for the storm door had to be shimmed out and caulked. Tim did a GREAT job of disguising this by using the quarter-round on the inside making it look very finished and sealing out the easterly wind which was blowing at the time. I think I will be safe and secure with my storm door against all weather this winter, thanks to Beantown and Tim's ingenious thinking. What was supposed to be about 2 hours (maybe 3) of work instead took him 6 hours! He was pleasant all the way through the frustrating/irritating/challenging installation. I applaud him.

Jim and the crew were professional and efficient. The job was completed in a timely manner and clean up was excellent. I am pleased with the end result and I am not easily pleased. I have used Beantown previously and plan on using them again for my siding project. I highly recommend Jim and Beantown.

Jim DelPrete came out twice to measure my front door to ensure the measurement was correct and explain the options. One of the issues was that my door was not a standard sized front door and had to be special ordered. There was also some rotted wood involved. On Thursday, September 24th, Bob, Becky, and Corey arrived to install the door. This crew was very personable and truly knew what they were doing. The end result was a beautifully installed new front door. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

Jim's great communication, professionalism and his hard working crew made the whole process easy and without any surprises. Would happily use Bean Town Home Improvements again in the future.

After messaging 5 contractors on Angie's List and either not getting a reply, or being informed they were too busy to take the job, Jim and Beantown Home Improvements stood out to us. Jim immediately responded and asked for pictures of our deck. He reviewed and then personally came out and took measurements and more photos. He had a quote to us within a few days for the work. After we reviewed the quote we asked for a few personal add-ons, including bringing our railing up to code with 4" balusters installed. Jim added this to the contract at no additional charge. We then signed the contract and got Jim the down deposit. He stated that due to an increase volume of work, he thought the job could be completed sometime in September or October, which wasn't a problem for us. To our pleasant surprise, Jim called and asked if he could send a crew out in early August. On the first day, Jim arrived with his crew which consisted of Bob, Becky, and Jake. Demolition soon began and Bob quickly informed us that the deck stairs were a hazard. The original plan was to remove the steps and a stringer to get to the back wall, and then reinstall. Bob found that the stairs were fastened poorly and were a "disaster waiting to happen". He pointed out the work to me and even to my untrained eyes, it made sense that the stairs needed to be replaced. Becky who was working on the cedar shingles found that the sill at the bottom of the stairs was showing rot due to water and termite damage. We had actually expected this as we knew about the termites and had them treated when we bought the house. Becky and Bob reviewed with us what our options were and gave their opinion based on what they would do if this was their house. We took their advice and they repaired as best as possible and laid the groundwork for prevention of future damage. Bob also installed cross supports to the bottom of our 2nd floor deck which now makes our deck feel more secure. All in all the crew replaced the deck railing, a few deck boards, many rotting cedar shingles, the kick board under our sliding door, installed the cross supports, performed preventative work on the sill, and replaced the stairs and hand rail. The crew was professional and informative, they were personable and enjoyed sharing information. After the crew left, Jim came by to pick up the garbage from the job. We had one baluster that was slightly off. Jim went to his truck, grabbed a hammer, and came back to make it perfect. We are very happy with the work that was done, it crosses off a huge project from our list. Now we can enjoy our deck and not worry about any future water damage. We would definitely consider using Beantown Home Improvements again in the future. Thank you!

Although I didn't hire this company to perform the work, I found the estimate given to me on the roof to be excellent, and the suggested products to be used were top of the line quality products. Jim was extremely responsive, provided several references phone #s and addresses to go see his work on other houses, and even though I decided against doing the vinyl siding and roof replacement for my home, I would definitely recommend him and his company.

Awesome. Installation of everything went great. They did it all in one day which i think is great. Even repaired some unrelated leaking issues around the balcony door. Based on this, I would highly recommend that you at least get a quote from Jim and don't hesitate hiring them at all.

They did a wonderful job, we also use his services for snow removal- always on time, and always does a great job.

Beantown did a great job. Door install was on 200+ year old house so with that comes challenges. Jim and his crew came up with solutions, explained everything as they went and installed a beautiful door while maintaining the character of the house. The were professional, courteous and at the end you would not even know they were here. I would definitely use Beantown again

The whole project went very well and was completed in two days. I was kept well informed of what was going to happen and when it would happen and any changes that occurred (like the dumpster arrival day). I was very pleased with the finished result. Jim was very professional and easy to work with and I would definitely use Beantown Home Improvement in the future.

Jim is very responsive, kept us updated all along. His workers were qualified and friendly. This is a professional company run by a professional who cares about his work. We would use them again without doubt.

Owning a home can be nerve racking because of the responsibility placed on the homeowner. This was especially so for because I hadn't been in my home for 1 year before things had gone wrong...FAST. Like most New Englanders I had water damage caused by ice dam's; while the area effected was relatively small I was enough to file a claim worth a few grand. I chose Beantown because their A rating and previous reviews and I have to say I was extremely pleased. The entire process from the first assessment to the final trim installation was easy and painless. Jim is a true professional who offers a wealth of knowledge on home remodeling. Immediately Jim searched for ways to save me money without sacrificing quality. In addition, he offered pragmatic solutions that suited my needs and budget. We were not required to be home during the renovation and simply provided Jim a key to our house. He keep us updated on the work preformed each day and what to expect next. If there was an issue he notified me immediately and he also completed the work when he said he would. Before Jim left the house after a days work he would ensure his gear was tidy and the home was cleaned of any scrap material. Jim never strayed away from any questions I had related or unrelated to the project. Although this is my first experience with a contractor as a homeowner, there is no doubt as to whether I would use Jims company or recommend him to any of my closest family & friends. Thanks Jim and I look forward to working with you on other projects in the future.

Mr. Delprete answered our call and came out the next day to inspect the damage to our ceilings from the ice. He recommended taking off one huge piece of ice in the back of the house that my husband and I could not get to. He came out a day later when promised and removed the ice from our home that was causing major damage. He was very knowledgeable and forthright. I am definitely hiring him to repair the damage and other issues around our home. Great guy!!

We hired Beantown to install a new wall to create a new bedroom, move our TV over our fireplace, paint and a few other things. We met with several contractors before deciding on Beantown and we could instantly tell the difference. Beantown set the bar as THE most professional, responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. They addressed every issue and concern immediately, walked us through each step up-front and explained every detail of what was to be done. We knew we were in good hands and that we weren't going to be taken advantage of. Jim is great! He really knows what he is doing, is honest and goes the extra mile for his client. The only issue I had is that the replacement moulding wasn't sanded and ready to be painted. Everything else was perfect!

We were in a tough spot needing work done quickly and well in order to pass an inspection to for insurance. Jim met with me on very short notice and was able to fit the job into his schedule quickly. He and his crew showed up when they said they would and got the job done well in record time. Throughout the process Jim was responsive, helpful with suggestions and professional.
