We moved into a new house last year that was freshly built with no lawn. We decided to build an irrigation system to keep the hydro seed moist and maintain the lawn after growing it in. After receiving quotes from three companies, we chose Wains's because they arrived promptly to conduct a free estimate and also were the lowest cost. The estimate was detailed and included flags placed in the dirt to identify where each sprinkler head would be positioned.
The installation was completed on time and on budget, and the team visited my house a few weeks later to make minor adjustments to correct a couple dry spots. There have been no leaks, and the holes drilled in the wall to supply water were sealed properly and continue to hold up well after a tough New England winter.
Last fall, we needed to move a few heads in order to expand the driveway and address some punch list issues with the new house. Wains's was very easy to reach for advice and then returned the following spring to re-tune the affected zones.
My irrigation system has operated flawlessly for 2 seasons now. My lawn is robust and looks great, which is evidence of solid design work. I referred my next door neighbor and Wain's did a great job there also.
The Wains team is experienced, efficient, courteous, professional, and overall very easy to recommend.

I can't write enough good things about Wain's irrigation. Had an earlier quote from last year but postponed the job as I wanted to have a fence up first. Called for a new estimate. Returned my VM next day and stopped by later same day for an updated quote. Honored the same per head price, which I knew from previous year is considerably lower than competition. I was lucky he had an opening in his agenda so offered to come in next day and finish by noon the following day. Showed up on time, late afternoon, dig the holes with minimal damage to lawn, when his crew was already hooking up heads. Drives ditch witch better than most people drives lawn tractors, thru gates, etc no issues. Half the job was done that day. Rest was completed at the same pace next morning and I was watering my lawn around noon.
Enjoying the irrigation system in full extent since then, 3.5 yr old taking tons of showers as well :)
I value people who clearly state what they will do, then do it exactly the way they described it and be on time. (Sounds trivial but unfortunately became a luxury these days, in my experience) and that is Wain.
They nicely cleaned up after themselves, programmed the controller, walk me thru key features and how tos.
I wish all the contractors are like Wain.

I've been very satisfied the with all of my dealings with Wain's Irrigation and Wayne, the owner. They're easy to get in touch with, either via phone or email. They've always been able to fit me in quickly whenever I call and have handled the annual maintenance on my sprinkler system without any fuss.
Recently, I had some problems with my control panel (the old one failed and I needed to get a new one) and Wayne consulted with me via phone, twice, at no charge to help me troubleshoot the problem and recommend a new model to replace the old one. I ended up installing it myself, as I was comfortable doing so, but I really appreciated the fact that he spent a couple of phone calls with me to help me figure out what was going on and make suggestions as to what I could do to test things out.

They had planned on working early Friday morning but due to the heavy rains I received an early call informing me that they would delay the work (completely understandable) but would try and do the work that day if the rain eased a bit. Sure enough when the rain ended, the large crew showed up and finished the job. The Crew was very professional, they worked hard, they moved and replaced many sprinkler heads. They cleaned up and it looks like they were never here, just in time for my barbecue today!

They were efficient and did good work.

My overflow valve popped off the first time I tried to use it this year so I looked up sprinkler companies on Angies and liked the reviews for this company. I called them up on a Monday 7/2/12. I received a call on 7/3/2012 that Wayne had been i the area so he stopped by to look at the type of valve needed. Well I wasn't home but he had the part on his truck and fixed it right then. He then talked to me on the phone and I had also wanted them to check out the whole system as many of my sprinkler heads needed to be raised. We set up that appointment for a later time (I had to push it back a week because of scheduling conflicts). There was no charge that day. They then came back out raised 15 heads to better heights. the whole bill was $150 which included the already fixed valve. I couldn't have received better service and will be using them this fall when I winterize.

Arrived on time and did a good job as promised and did a nice job patching lawn after installations. Cost of sprinkler heads over twice the price of Home Depot.

We purchased the house with a lawn irrigation system already installed. At the end of each season, we would call the company who's label was on the control box assuming they were the ones who installed the system. Each year when we called, we would find out that the company name changed. I never had a good feeling about them. One year we decided not to turn on the system to due water restrictions in the area and continued not to turn it on for a few years. Last Spring we had to turn it back on so that the city could inspect it. Mid way through the fall season, we realized we needed to get it winterized. We tried the old company again and had no luck. Turns out that was a very good thing. I ended up going to Angie's List for help on who to contact. I found Wain's Irrigation and my husband called to set up the appt. As it turns out, they were the original installers. Anyway, we were charged substantially less than the previous company was charging us years earlier. We were so happy with the service provided as well as the personnel that we plan on calling them back this Spring. We are putting a deck on the house and will be looking to move the system so that we actually water the lawn and not the new deck. I wouldn't hesitate at all to contact Wain's Irrigation and hope if you have a need of lawn irrigation services that you wouldn't hesitate to contact Wain's either.

They did a very good job. I would recommend them highly. They had put my irrigation system in. The whole irrigation system cost about $4500. I called them because we had a broken head and they came back and fixed it. It was under guarantee. I think they were fair on price. They did a lot of work. They have been extremely good. They were nice and friendly. They did what they said they were going to do. They were professional and punctual. They were very good on quality. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

I'd chosen Wain's based on recommendations here at Angie's List, after the other local company I was using wasn't working particularly well. First off, calling and talking with Wain's on the phone was a pleasure. The woman who runs the office is friendly and informative, and answered any questions I had. In the Fall, when they did the prepping of the system for Winter, I ensured that I was home, since it was the first time they were coming to my house. They showed up on time and were friendly and efficient. For this Spring's service, I called to schedule it and they were able to fit me in the same week I called (the next day, actually). Since they'd already been out to my house once, I didn't need to be home for them to start up the system, I just turned the water on and they took care of the rest. A seemingly small thing, but when I came home from work on the day they were supposed to be there, there was a very small flag in the lawn near my driveway with their name and contact info on it. Not big enough to be considered advertising, but something to let me know that they'd been there. One of my big gripes with the last company I worked with was that it was never clear when they were coming or whether they'd been there when they said they would. So, getting that little confirmation from Wain's was nice. As yet, they haven't had to do any major maintenance on my irrigation system (no parts gone bad in need of replacing, etc.), but so far, they've been great to work with.

Used them for last 2 years, so far so good. Going to call them again this year.

I am new ot the area and this is my first exposure to irrigation. Wayne is extremely helpful in all ways. He show up on time and swiftly hadhis guys start up , test and fix the system for the summer. that part was very quick and perfect. as a first time user, Wayne walked me thorugh the entire sustem, offering advise on aiming, placement and usage, and taking the time to train me on programing the system and understanding how it all worked. When he learned i had some other l;awn needs, he not only aimed me toward several contractors for that, but he also called a few, told them of my needs and set up a visit for me. Extremely nice guy, extremely customer focused.

I've used Wain's Irrigation for the past 3 years and have had no problems. They are very punctual, quickly return phone calls, and provide a good value (I talked to other companies who wanted to charge up to $90 dollars for the same work). I will continue to use them and would recommend them to others.

The Automatic Service Contract included a Spring start-up and a fall shut-down. The start-up and shut-down were completed as expected.
