David Reitano Remodeling & Building

My unit had original hardwood floors that were extremely worn down and dingy looking.  The bedroom had a thick shag carpet from wall to wall that was filthy.  Dave and his crew came in and removed the carpet (there was hardwood underneath) and then refinished all the floors.  They look AMAZING! Dave was attentive to my desire to have a semi-gloss floor since I have a dog and didn't want them to be too shiny.  The work was done on time, and he even sent me pictures of how they turned out before I was able to go home (the floors need a few days to dry).  Would highly, highly recommend and will be using Dave in the future for other things I want done in the condo.

Work started in the fall and was smooth and steady. Because our house had a cinder-block base, they had to add wood strapping to the side of the house to apply the siding. So, there was a LOT of prep work to make it right and have everything look seamless. That was actually one of our concerns, but Dave and his crew make is look like magic afterward. (If I can, I will post photos.) I works from home a lot and was around for a lot of work (even pitched in if I could :-) so know they do not skip corners. Even the way the rain water would flow off of the house was addressed (so it wouldn't get into any cracks) was addressed. Anyhow, my wife and I are very pleased and will hire Dave back when needed. We now have the best looking house on the block!

The final product turned out better than expected and all work was EXTREMELY professional. Dave and his crew were at our house pretty much every work day until the job was done. In framing the structure, Dave used 2x6's (rather than 2x4's) for added strength and more insulating space, which was important because there is a crawlspace under the side of the house being updated. Along with major framing for the addition, he also installed an engineered wood beam in the attic to support the roof. So, it was a pretty big job but they handled it with ease. I was able to work around them easily doing my stuff and the crew were super courteous and cleaned up after each day. At one point, Dave could see my dad and I were having difficulties installing a kitchen window, so he and a worker stopped what we were doing and gave us a hand. This was outside of the contracted work but he knew he could make our lives easier. It was a small gesture but speaks a volumes about his character. The end result was an addition with perfect floors that transition seamlessly into the adjacent room, super sturdy construction and a much larger house. A+++++ to Dave and his team!

I think that it was a good experience. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't wonderful either. I thought that the guy was very honest and I have used him several times because of this. He's good, but most of the time there is one small thing he doesn't do.
