Description of Work: While our initial experiences with Alpha Rad were good (radon mitigation system installed, good price, worked well), the follow up was not. Our fan for the radon mitigation system stopped working (after 10 years, which is normal), and we tried repeatedly to get Alpha Rad on the phone and contact through email to no avail. If they are no longer in business they should get rid of their number and web site.

KEVIN IS INTELLIGENT, THOROUGH, RESPONSIVE, NEAT AND HE DOES THE WORK HIMSELF (WHICH TO ME WAS A HUGE SELLING POINT). HE WENT THROUGH EVERY ASPECT OF THE PROJECT, WAS SURE TO ISOLATE THE SYSTEM FROM THE BUILDING STRUCTURE (WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO AVOID LOUD BUZZES AND RATTLING FROM VIBRATIONS), AND GUARANTEES A BELOW 2 PICOLITRE (PCI/L) FINAL RADON READING (OTHERS ONLY GUARANTEED 4 PICOLITRES). THE SYSTEM IS VIRTUALLY SILENT AND HE GOT THE READINGS DOWN FROM 7 PICOLITRES DOWN TO .6 (THAT'S POINT 6!- UNDER 1 PICOLITRE!).
Description of Work: INSTALLED A FULL INTERIOR RADON REDUCTION SYSTEM WITH 6 INCH PVC PIPING (OTHER COMPANIES USED 4'' PVC PIPING) AND HEAVY DUTY ATTIC-LOCATED INLINE FAN. THE SYSTEM PENETRATES THE BASEMENT FLOOR AT TWO LOCATIONS, RUNS THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE HOUSE IN A VIRTUALLY UNDETECTABLE MANNER, AND EXITS THE ROOF IN A VERY INCONSPICUOUS LOCATION.

KEVIN CAME RECOMMENDED FROM A GUY I TALKED TO AT THE STATE RADON OFFICE, SO I HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS, WHICH HE MET. VERY PROFESSIONAL, PROMPT, EASY TO WORK WITH. EXPLAINED HOW THE PROCESS WORKS OF MITIGATING THE RADON. LEFT HIS CARD TAPED TO RADON PIPE SO IF WE HAD ANY QUESTIONS IT WOULD BE EASY TO CALL HIM. POINTED OUT THINGS SUCH AS A LOOSE WIRE IN THE ATTIC WE HADN'T KNOWN ABOUT, ALSO THAT OUR PREVIOUS ROOFER HAD PUT ROOF TILES ON TOP OF 2 OTHER LAYERS, WHICH I HADN'T KNOWN. KEPT TO ORIGINAL ESTIMATE EVEN WHEN IT TURNED OUT TO BE MORE WORK THAN HE EXPECTED. HIS WRITTEN ESTIMATE WAS VERY DETAILED IN TERMS OF THE WORK TO BE DONE AND HIS GUARANTEE.
Description of Work: INSTALLED PIPE TO MITIGATE RADON, WITH FAN. DID ''COMMUNICATION TEST'' TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN HE PUT THE PIPE IN THE BASEMENT FLOOR, IT WOULD SUCK AIR FROM UNDER THE ENTIRE FLOOR, WHICH IS NECESSARY IF IT'S TO WORK REDUCING THE RADON.
