Steve and his team are great! Punctual. Professional. Hardworking. 
We have had work done on our home before and immediately recognized Steve's quality of craftsmanship. He always made a point of asking about how we'd like small details executed (such as the spacing of the board and batten when there were obstructions in the way), rather than assuming. He is very skilled at what he does and the work is built to last. As an added bonus, we found the entire crew to be just the nicest people! We 100% recommend Steve Voloto and would definitely hire him again.

The work performed was excellent.  The island was exposed on the sides and back and required two Ikea pieces be cut with precision in order to achieve a finished look.  The workmanship was outstanding the island looks fantastic.

They have an attention to detail.  They do it right the first time.  Nothing will have to be repeated or repaired.  They are worth the price.

Steve, Frank and the SDV team did a superb job replacing and adding new trim work to my 1800's Beacon Hill Condo.  They were extremely professional, were on time, completed work on time and provided suggestions for areas of trim work that required additional thought.  They did a very good job a customizing trim and doors in tight non-conforming spaces.  The custom doors they constructed fit perfectly.  Overall I would highly recommend Steve and his team for high quality finish carpentry.

I would give them an A+.  Steve who runs the business was the clearest most professional contractor I have ever worked with.  There was no lateness, changing the price, there never any excuses, we had clear communication, cleaned up after themselves, just none of the typical problematic contractor unprofessionalism.  Their work is really well done, people walk by my house and tell me that it is a work of art.  They just did great work and i have nothing but positive to say about Steven and his team.  They made the project as painless as possible for me.  They are not the cheapest but they do have fair pricing for the quality of work they give.

Steve did great work.  He was referred to us by a friend, and was prompt and courteous in all conversations leading up to hiring him.  He took his time to do the job right, but was conscious of our time table and did his best to meet it.  It is obvious that Steve takes pride in his work.  He is very skilled, and there were a few instances where other carpenters doing separate work out our house stopped what they were doing to watch him perform a difficult task.  At one point they applauded.  We are very happy with the end result, and Steve has been prompt since the job has been completed in addressing a couple minor issues.

Steve and his team did a great job of understanding what we wanted and helped us make it happen within our modest budget.  All the work on the window openings was done with a great deal of precision and the screens that we later ordered fit perfectly.  The work was done in a style that matches that of our old house, and takes into consideration some weatherization factors inherent in this exterior porch.  All the work was done on time and on budget as promised.  We are completely satisfied and would recommend Steve to anyone who is interested in a talented carpenter who enjoys restoration work on old homes.  One of the best things about Steve is that he will communicate with you and take/return your phone calls and I respect and appreciate that.

Steve and his crew are very friendly and professional. They arrive on time and delivered everything they said they would do. They were delayed a couple of days due to the weather. So he worked weekends to complete the project when promised. We definitely recommend him. His pricing is a little high but the work that they did was very labor intensive. Although it seems expensive, it was a lot of woodworking and detail work. He specializes in historic restoration. He had to find matching wood which was not common. He matched it and finished it. The price seems steep but when you count the restoration and the labor intensive work, it makes sense.

Steve and his crew spent several months in the summer of 2010 restoring the exterior of our historic Victorian home. They replaced cedar siding, and restored rotten architectural details, as described above. We recommend SDV Carpentry without reservation. His work was impeccable - he is a skilled carpenter and was able to reproduce numerous molding and trim details that had rotted on the exterior of our house. Steve was on site for most of the job, and his workers were extremely capable and trustworthy. The cost was reasonable and as estimated. Steve was notable for communication skills and returning my phone calls. He and his crew were polite, honest, and trustworthy. We are very satisfied.

Steve did a fantastic job from start to finish. He responded promptly to my inquiry and provided an estimate in line with other that I had received. We did not have architectural plans and there are no straight lines in our old house, so Steve had to custom build everything in the space. He did an exceptional job. The cabinets fit the space perfectly and exhibit a very high quality of work. Steve also has a very strong attention to detail as well as a good sense of picturing what will look best when the project is complete. This skill only comes with care and experience, both of which Steve has. He was thus able to guide us through the project with many helpful suggestions and the result exceeded our expectations. He also cleaned up well every day and always arrived as planned and on schedule. All in all, we are delighted with the project and would recommend Steve highly.

They were very attentive to Georgian period detail in prominent locations as well as building code compliance. Steve and his crew are prompt, courteous, careful, and very competent. We have recommended them to many friends and neighbors who have been equally satisfied.

He is getting ready to build a bookshelf in my son's room but he hasn’t started that yet. His knowledge is great. He is never wrong with his assessments. He can figure out what is going on with something and what needs to be done, which I don't always see. He has so much experience. Sometimes I don't know what he is talking about and he shows me. He is always right. He is fantastic.

Steve came right out, gave us a solid estimate, and was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He did an amazing job, and the staircase is extremely well constructed and very attractive. We were so impressed by his work, that we also had him replace the balusters on the staircase to the second floor - this required quite a bit of retrofitting, as we wanted to keep our handcarved handrail!! Overall, I would highly recommend Steve, he is a diligent worker, with excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. He was also a pleasure to have around the house, as he is easy going and friendly. These guys are great - worth every penny, if you are interested in work done right the first time!!

Very professional. Did excellent work within the budget and timetable requested and with minimal supervision. They were able to do the work with very short notice and with me being out of town. I would definitely recommend them again.

He can do just about anything. He's very professional and fair. He clearly knows what he's doing and never presents any unexpected surprises or problems with materials and pricing.

Steve and his crew did an excellent job, thorough and professional from start to finish. He is straightforward in all his communications and he explains what he is going to do or what the options are. We are VERY happy to finally have the work done correctly and wish we'd found Steve earlier!
