I first had Grey's service my washing machine about six years ago (it was approximately ten years old at the time). The technician told me it was unrepairable and that I needed a new washer. He gave me a coupon for $50 if I bought a new washer from his company. I bought a new washer from Sears. Less then a year ago the current washer stopped working, I called Grey's and the same technician came and informed me that this washer was irreparable and again gave me a coupon for $50 off an appliance from his company. I said that was strange that it only lasted five years, to which he responded that washers only last about five years now. While we were talking, he demonstrated that the drum was off the ball bearings by jiggling the drum around. After he did that the machine worked fine. Now I realize that the first machine may also have been repairable.

We trust Gray's. They are the place we start unless we bought it from somebody else. We didn't go out and completely competitively look for a price to repair the dryer. We knew there was a problem with it and they were the first people to come and take a look at it. That is the way we've worked. If we knew what the actual repair was we might go out competitively. We had to wait two or three days before they could get us in at that time. It is too far back to give anybody any bad marks. The overall experience was fine.

We had been shopping for a new dishwasher for awhile.  I had decided to go with a locally owned appliance store rather than the "big box stores" after a bad experience with a washing machine install with Lowes.
We had gone to Gray's before to shop.  Each and every time, the sales people were always helpful and professional. They were never pushy and always gave a wealth of information.  So when it came time to finally make our purchase, I knew it was going to be with Gray's.  We purchased a new Whirlpool to replace the 35 year old GE modal.  I did some price comparisons with other stores and Grays matched the price.
The cost break down was $490 + tax for the dishwasher/ $195 for Installation (included all parts and removal/disposal of old dishwasher/$150 for 5 year Service Plan. Note: service plan is transferable AND if not used during the 5 years, you get it back as a store credit - great deal!  The dishwasher also came with a $75 rebate which is not available in the box chains.
Here's what I loved.  They didn't just send someone guy off the street to do the job -or- a third party installation company. They sent  a licensed plummer/electrician who works for them do it!  This immediately put my mind at ease!  When the gentleman, Mike, pulled out the old dishwasher, he discovered that the wires were completely exposed and couldn't believe that we didn't have any issues.  He of course, fixed this during the install of the new dishwasher.
After the install, Mike cleaned up after himself and stayed to show me how to operate the new machine.  He also made recommendations on maintenance and detergent to use.  I really appreciated this information.
I highly recommend Grays and will be making all future appliance purchases through them going forward.

This was my first visit to Gray's.  My wife's a teacher in Saugus and this place was recommended to her by several other teachers.  I previously checked out Doyon's in Reading but for whatever reason I didn't like them. I also checked out Home Depot in Reading but I've had not so good service from them post-sale on a snowblower.  So I wanted to make this appliance purchase from a smaller place that services what they sell.
I bought a Maytag dishwasher and was helped by Dennis Gray.  He was very knowledgeable (I learned more than I would ever need or want to know about dishwashers), no pressure, and he even matched the price of the identical dishwasher that was on sale that week at Home Depot for about $50 less.
The dishwasher was delivered and installed a week later.  The technician was very good, cleaned up, and hauled away the old one.  And so far we've had no problems.  I purchased the Service Plan for an additional $150 but they give you the $150 back as store credit if you don't use it.

Gray's was very professional to work with.  They arrived on time and did a great job of installing the three units.  They are working just great.

We had purchased a dishwasher from Gray's 2 years ago for our old house and had been very satisfied, so went to them again when the new-to-us house we purchased recently turned out to have a dead leaking one. We were able to purchase the same model at the same price. The salesperson was pleasant, answered our questions, knew that the other model that advertised a Mass Save rebate wouldn't get us one due to the electric company in our town.
But what really impressed us was the delivery and installation service today. We knew that the old dishwasher was messed up (it had refilled with water and leaked into the basement 3x despite not being turned on) but when their plumber/installer Mike started to take it out he found a very smelly mess! Apparently the previous homeowner had installed it himself, poorly. The drain on it had rotted out and there was a sulpherous rotten-egg smell, plus layers of grease that had been poured down the drain. Mike said that if we'd waited much longer to do the replacement the smell would have gotten so bad we would never had gotten it out of the house.
Despite these nasty conditions he removed the old washer, replaced the drain line, pointed out that we needed to have the electrical connection checked, both because the housing was corroding from the leaks and it had not actually been grounded so if water had gotten to it there could have been a fire(!), and then managed to install the new washer despite a very tight fit under the counter.
You can be sure we tipped him on top of the delivery fee for all that extra aggravation!

I needed to replace a casement a/c in a permanent somewhat unusual installation.  After my initial visit to the store Bill Jr. came to the house, looked over the old a/c and installation, assured me they could install  a new one.   He wrote up a sales order with a price higher than I expected.  However, when I later questioned this price Will, the sales manager, apologized for the confusion and offered to refund the difference in price.  Evidently there is a disconnect in their systems.  I appreciate his responsiveness to my problem.

The new a/c was installed June 3.  Nice fellows, efficient, helpful.  I am happy with the new a/c and their work.

The service person was informative and on time. Grays customer service (Suzanne) very abrupt and not familiar with Customer service even though answers the phone as such. After repeated calls to try to find out when replacement will arrive has said "its not Gray's problem". Calls to the actual maker of the product states that all paperwork for replacement has been sent to Gray's over a week ago. Still , as of today, no information or calls from Gray's Appliance, repeatedly told someone will call , as yet has not happened.  Poor customer service, even worse than the usual bad service most consumers have come to expect.

Had a couple minor issues with the fridge and stove. The Fridge was fixed right away. The Stove issue was a cosmetic issue with the door Stainless trim. They promptly ordered a new one only to find it was the same as the original. This appeared to be a manufacturing issue from the factory. The service manager Brian, went out of his way to work with Electrolux to get a door panel that met my satifaction. He order multiple door panels until they finally got one that wasn't deformed.Couldn't ask for more than that. They did all the inspections at the shop so I didn't have to make multiple appointments to have them get to my house and find out the replacement was not better than the last one. Saved me a lot of time and aggravation.

I viewed and purchased a portable dishwasher. The sales person was very informative and pleasant. Portable dishwashers are not very common so there was not a large selection from which to chose, but there were enough options. Delivery was on a convenient date.

We looked at a number of places, and we read a bunch of reviews.  They have good prices.  They could get the exact appliances that we wanted.  They had appliances in stock.  They took the time to walk us through them and give the introduction what it looked like and what the process was for restacking the washer dryer.  They had a very good reputation there.  The pricing was pretty close to everywhere we went.  We heard horror stories about how hard it can get to fix the washer dryer and refrigerator, if we have a problem with it and if we don’t go to a dealer.  They have an excellent reputation.  We actually haven’t had to make use of it because appliances haven’t failed.  They started a little higher on the price than another place we found.  We showed them the price from another store, and they matched it.  They were great.  They match the lowest price out there.  They had to restack the washer dryer twice for one reason and another.  They kept adding it till they got it right that was nice.  They were quite punctual.  They came exactly when they said with the appliance.

I was able to call and get a convenient appointment within a week.  Service technician both experienced and knowledgable.  Was able to diagnose dryer's issues as a build-up of lint.  Cleaned- and dryer has performed much better.  Service calls like these are expensive- but it helps when you're confident that the job was done right.

Dennis from Gray's Appliance was the third person in to repair my washer. The others never figured it out, but Dennis diagnosed it quickly and after estimating the cost of repair, discussed the merits of repairing or replacing the washer. He was professional and balanced and just a very nice guy. After some thought, I decided to repair it and called to order the part and schedule the service. Whoever answers the phone at Gray's is also very pleasant and efficient! It took about a week to get the part, and again, Dennis was prompt, friendly and professional. He replaced the part, tested the washer and bonus! - it cost a bit less than I expected. The washer started acting up again a few weeks later and I was wishing I'd just gotten a new washer! But Gray's was great about scheduling and coming out for service. A different part had failed and Dennis showed me the problem. He had an extra part on his truck and installed it, and the washer was ready to go. There was no charge for the part (he said it was a spare) or the service call since they guarantee their work.

They are very good. They came out to get the work done. It’s nice to use a small company. I don’t know how small they are, but they are not a big company. They are very careful and professional people. I have used them in the past even when I lived in another place. They come when they say they are going to come. They do what they say they will do. They are nice to work with. I don’t know how you could improve their service since they were good at what they did.

The repairman from Gray's Appliance came quickly, repaired my refrigerator completely, and cleaned up thoroughly. I wish that I had purchased all of my appliances from them. I will go there the next time I need to buy a major appliance.
