We trust Gray's. They are the place we start unless we bought it from somebody else. We didn't go out and completely competitively look for a price to repair the dryer. We knew there was a problem with it and they were the first people to come and take a look at it. That is the way we've worked. If we knew what the actual repair was we might go out competitively. We had to wait two or three days before they could get us in at that time. It is too far back to give anybody any bad marks. The overall experience was fine.
We had gone to Gray's before to shop. Each and every time, the sales people were always helpful and professional. They were never pushy and always gave a wealth of information. So when it came time to finally make our purchase, I knew it was going to be with Gray's. We purchased a new Whirlpool to replace the 35 year old GE modal. I did some price comparisons with other stores and Grays matched the price.
The cost break down was $490 + tax for the dishwasher/ $195 for Installation (included all parts and removal/disposal of old dishwasher/$150 for 5 year Service Plan. Note: service plan is transferable AND if not used during the 5 years, you get it back as a store credit - great deal! The dishwasher also came with a $75 rebate which is not available in the box chains.
Here's what I loved. They didn't just send someone guy off the street to do the job -or- a third party installation company. They sent a licensed plummer/electrician who works for them do it! This immediately put my mind at ease! When the gentleman, Mike, pulled out the old dishwasher, he discovered that the wires were completely exposed and couldn't believe that we didn't have any issues. He of course, fixed this during the install of the new dishwasher.
After the install, Mike cleaned up after himself and stayed to show me how to operate the new machine. He also made recommendations on maintenance and detergent to use. I really appreciated this information.
I highly recommend Grays and will be making all future appliance purchases through them going forward.
I bought a Maytag dishwasher and was helped by Dennis Gray. He was very knowledgeable (I learned more than I would ever need or want to know about dishwashers), no pressure, and he even matched the price of the identical dishwasher that was on sale that week at Home Depot for about $50 less.
The dishwasher was delivered and installed a week later. The technician was very good, cleaned up, and hauled away the old one. And so far we've had no problems. I purchased the Service Plan for an additional $150 but they give you the $150 back as store credit if you don't use it.
But what really impressed us was the delivery and installation service today. We knew that the old dishwasher was messed up (it had refilled with water and leaked into the basement 3x despite not being turned on) but when their plumber/installer Mike started to take it out he found a very smelly mess! Apparently the previous homeowner had installed it himself, poorly. The drain on it had rotted out and there was a sulpherous rotten-egg smell, plus layers of grease that had been poured down the drain. Mike said that if we'd waited much longer to do the replacement the smell would have gotten so bad we would never had gotten it out of the house.
Despite these nasty conditions he removed the old washer, replaced the drain line, pointed out that we needed to have the electrical connection checked, both because the housing was corroding from the leaks and it had not actually been grounded so if water had gotten to it there could have been a fire(!), and then managed to install the new washer despite a very tight fit under the counter.
You can be sure we tipped him on top of the delivery fee for all that extra aggravation!
The new a/c was installed June 3. Nice fellows, efficient, helpful. I am happy with the new a/c and their work.
