ZUKA'S MAINTENANCE

Terrible. He did complete demo of tile but insisted on getting paid before he even started the job in cash. I had then asked for him to return to make sure the floor was level for insulation, he had asked for more money to complete the job and of course I had to pay up front again. Communication was extremely difficult with Zuka. He kept asking for more money and did not stick to his original estimate/contract in which he loss. After he did not show to complete job I had to tell him to pick up his tools and I was hiring another contractor. 

The job went horribly, and this was after two other jobs with this contractor went well. On the day when final inspection was to be done, I looked to find that one of the flat roofing sections had been removed, but not replaced. The cement repointing had not been done, nor had cement/tar been put over the flashing to shed rain from the chimney onto the roof. Finally, a nail gun was used, apparently by folks who couldn't figure it out, as they drove the roofing nails right through the shingles, with over 40 shingle sections falling off the roof. The contractor came out once and made repairs, but stopped coming or responding to calls, and will probably need legal action to recover some of our money. Also, the contractor only took worker's compensation insurance at our insistence, and dropped it as soon as our job was done; he does not have a required state license. Finally, upon starting the job, work was halted as he failed to get a required permit for the work.
