They were very prompt and very nice but due to very normal circumstances we were not able to start the work yet. They have appointments made with me to get them done.

Very nice people to work with indeed!
They really seem to care about the work and even did some extras without being asked.

there were some initial communication issues with the repair, but once we sorted them out, repairs were customized to our needs and were completed in a timely and professional manner

Difficult to schedule, but once they finally were able to make it, they were in and out in a day. Work looked good.

I purchased a "big deal", and had trouble reaching him at first to do the work. The work was satisfactory so I hired them to continue working on the project. The work was extremely sloppy, the men took many breaks, and left 3 hours early (leaving work undone). Out of frustration I hired another man who did twice the work in half the time and charged considerably less.

Initial response was fast, too weeks to come and do the work after a couple of reminders. I expect better quality of work.

Giovany and his team did a nice job with some odd jobs in our house. We used Angies list big deal for a Handyman for a day and paid extra over that for additional labor and material costs. We needed the basement entry door replaced by a fire rated door, fix garage holes with fire retardant seal, replace a broken closet door, remove wooden flooring in the attic so that we can insulate it.
It took a very long time for him to return our calls and set up an appointment after we bought the big deal(2 months), but once he got in touch he gave his cellphone number and email and was responsive.
The work was of good quality and done in a timely manner. His team of 3 finished the work efficiently in about half a day.  They were courteous and professional. We asked him to buy the materials himself, and thought that the fire rated door was on the expensive side ($400+). However, it is of a higher fire rating than the Home Depot stuff so I guess it is indeed more expensive.
Giovany initially said that the big deal did not cover removal of discarded material after work but went ahead and removed them anyway, which was nice.  Overall we are happy with his work and would recommend/ use again for other stuff around our house.

Sunrise arrived promptly when they promised and did the work quickly and professionally.  They were willing to come back later to do additional work.

This was the most frustrating experience I've had with a contractor.  On March 1st I called the phone number listed on the coupon but it ended up being something like a fax.  So I emailed the company.  I did get a phone call and the contractor came out in a timely manner to review the work (March 9th).  Based on the review I added two tiling projects to the initial list and asked him to send me an estimate.  I heard nothing for almost a week after which I began a stream of emails.  I found it difficult to understand him on the phone, which is why I mostly emailed.  It took several days to get an estimate.  Unfortunately it was in dollars and not hours.  Since I had an 8-hour coupon I needed to see the hours.  The estimate seemed way too much for the work they would be doing.  In fact, I called in another contractor for the tiling projects and it was significantly less than Sunrise's.  It took two days and several emails to get the hourly estimate.  On Friday March 22nd,  I revised the work list, signed off on the revised proposal and suggested a date for the following week (Tuesday March 26th).  I didn't hear from the contractor and so I emailed him the evening of March 24th and again mid-afternoon March 25th.  I finally heard from him late that afternoon saying they would be out the next day. I think it was my threat to cancel the job and request a refund that got him to respond. Luckily I was able to take the day off from work.  Two men arrived on Tuesday and did most of the work.  They missed one of the holes, which I now have to patch/paint myself.  The work was basically done okay but I was so glad to get it done so I would never have to contact this company ever again.
In hindsight I should have read all the reviews on your site instead of just looking at the clip on the coupon.

Workers were very pleasant and did a nice job.
Bannister price was good, but staining price was higher than expected; staining was a last minute decision by owner.

Giovanni was friendly and helpful.  It toke longer to install the vanity and faucets, but he did not charge me for the extra time. Was not clear on one aspect of the job.  Giovanni was responsive and concerned, but I was not fully satisfied with the explanation.

We had a bit of a problem setting up a time.  I believe he had a move or a problem with his phone, but I am pleased he came and did a nice job.  He is a very pleasant gentleman!  I definitely would consider using his services in the future.
The job was performed much later than the purchase date due partly because of my not contacting him earlier.

The guys from Sunrise did a wonderful job with a tricky situation. The estimator who first came to asess the job was friendly and on time, and the work was scheduled promptly. We ended up spending  more than we had initially paid, but the job was done well. My only complaint was that the clean-up was not so great- blobs of plaster on the floor and a few other items that were stored in the garage....not sure if I would use them again- depends on the job.

My kitchen has never had any kickboards under the cabinets since I moved in, and it was time to install some.  The rest of the walls in the kitchen had standard white floor molding, but under the cabinets there was only the black MDF cabinet base, which has become chipped and pitted over time.
The trick was matching the molding to the kickboards.  The two surfaces met at the outside corners, but the molding was a an inch or so higher than the kickboard clearance, so the corners couldn't be joined in the normal way.
Giovany from Sunrise evaluated the situation and recommended buying the same type of molding used for the rest of the kitchen, which he would then cut down to fit the kickboard spaces.  That way, most of the surfaces would match up.  For the top of the corners, he recommended creating a fake joint by using a small piece off the top of one of the new pieces of molding and attaching that to the existing floor molding at a 90-degree angle.  It's something I never would have thought of, but it solved the problem and it looks great.
Had a little trouble scheduling the work through the answering service -- I had to call a few times to make sure they had my dates marked down, and to verify when they would be showing up.  Once that was resolved, everything went smoothly.  On the work day we had scheduled, Giovany was worried about setting up his equipment in the rain, but I offered the use of my garage to protect his tools and he agreed.  He explained the job to one of his employees, who then did the installation perfectly and efficiently.  It took only a few hours, and I couldn't have asked for better results.

UPDATE:  The shelves that were built are just what I needed...I was able, after the contractor left, to paint the entire shelf unit (old and newly built shelves) and it looks great and works well.

The one 'take-away' I have from this, and another job I'm scheduling through an Angie's List coupon, is that these 'deals' are really meant to introduce you to the contractor, in an effort for them to come and do a small job so that you can assess their abilities and maybe hire them for other jobs.  A good way to get new business for sure, but understand that these deals are at a reduced price, which means they get large responses, and will need time to assess and schedule this work.  Don't expect the contractors to respond/schedule quickly on an Angies List deal, or you will be sorely disappointed.    Go in with the expectation that you and everyone else who bought the deal is calling at the same time to schedule the work, and the lead times might be longer than you hoped.

If you need it done fast, you might not want to use an Angie's List deal vendor right after the coupon was issued; if you do, expect that the lead time might be weeks out.

Responsiveness was lousy.  Company voicemail sounded standard out of the box like there is no office, just an answering service, and the carpenter is not answering his cell phone and doesn't have voicemail for me to leave a message.

I had previously left a negative review for this provider as they did not show up for the scheduled work and had failed to return my phone calls. Giovany called me a week later apologizing for the fact that we fell through the cracks given the high volume of phone calls due to the Angie's list coupon deal. Giovany explained to me what had happened and asked whether there was anything that he could do to rectify the situation. Despite the previously negative experience, I wanted to give him the job under the condition that he could schedule us in within the next few days and do a good job on it. He scheduled us in within a few days. Aside from some transportation issues that pushed the work back by a few hours, he showed up that day and his carpenter did a nice job on the stairs. I was satisfied with the quality of the workmanship and the fact that they completed it within a reasonable time frame. The price was also reasonable. I was also impressed that Giovany reached out to me wanting to make things better.

Working with Sunrise Contractor was, quite possibly, one of the best home improvement decisions I have ever made. The crew arrived everyday, on time, prepared to work and were quiet, clean, friendly, professional and helpful. I was immediately notified when additional work was necessary and spoke to the owner daily. Assistance and answers to my questions were readily avaiable. I cannot say enough about how wonderful an experience this has been.

I can't say enough good things about Sunrise Contractor . they are totally skilled and professional and so easy to work with! Many thanks! Giovany is very professional contractor delivery the job on time.
Simply the best. These guys are awesome.Giovany is very good person. He came on time, took measurements, and gave me the BEST price ever. I got quotes from about 5 other parties, and his was very competitive.  The wall painting is painstakingly perfect - all the corners, edges, everything great. His guys installed a recirculating range hood for me also. My wife and I recommend Sunrise Contractor for a future project
