They really seem to care about the work and even did some extras without being asked.
It took a very long time for him to return our calls and set up an appointment after we bought the big deal(2 months), but once he got in touch he gave his cellphone number and email and was responsive.
The work was of good quality and done in a timely manner. His team of 3 finished the work efficiently in about half a day. They were courteous and professional. We asked him to buy the materials himself, and thought that the fire rated door was on the expensive side ($400+). However, it is of a higher fire rating than the Home Depot stuff so I guess it is indeed more expensive.
Giovany initially said that the big deal did not cover removal of discarded material after work but went ahead and removed them anyway, which was nice. Overall we are happy with his work and would recommend/ use again for other stuff around our house.
In hindsight I should have read all the reviews on your site instead of just looking at the clip on the coupon.
Bannister price was good, but staining price was higher than expected; staining was a last minute decision by owner.
The job was performed much later than the purchase date due partly because of my not contacting him earlier.
The trick was matching the molding to the kickboards. The two surfaces met at the outside corners, but the molding was a an inch or so higher than the kickboard clearance, so the corners couldn't be joined in the normal way.
Giovany from Sunrise evaluated the situation and recommended buying the same type of molding used for the rest of the kitchen, which he would then cut down to fit the kickboard spaces. That way, most of the surfaces would match up. For the top of the corners, he recommended creating a fake joint by using a small piece off the top of one of the new pieces of molding and attaching that to the existing floor molding at a 90-degree angle. It's something I never would have thought of, but it solved the problem and it looks great.
Had a little trouble scheduling the work through the answering service -- I had to call a few times to make sure they had my dates marked down, and to verify when they would be showing up. Once that was resolved, everything went smoothly. On the work day we had scheduled, Giovany was worried about setting up his equipment in the rain, but I offered the use of my garage to protect his tools and he agreed. He explained the job to one of his employees, who then did the installation perfectly and efficiently. It took only a few hours, and I couldn't have asked for better results.
The one 'take-away' I have from this, and another job I'm scheduling through an Angie's List coupon, is that these 'deals' are really meant to introduce you to the contractor, in an effort for them to come and do a small job so that you can assess their abilities and maybe hire them for other jobs. A good way to get new business for sure, but understand that these deals are at a reduced price, which means they get large responses, and will need time to assess and schedule this work. Don't expect the contractors to respond/schedule quickly on an Angies List deal, or you will be sorely disappointed. Go in with the expectation that you and everyone else who bought the deal is calling at the same time to schedule the work, and the lead times might be longer than you hoped.
If you need it done fast, you might not want to use an Angie's List deal vendor right after the coupon was issued; if you do, expect that the lead time might be weeks out.

Responsiveness was lousy. Company voicemail sounded standard out of the box like there is no office, just an answering service, and the carpenter is not answering his cell phone and doesn't have voicemail for me to leave a message.
Simply the best. These guys are awesome.Giovany is very good person. He came on time, took measurements, and gave me the BEST price ever. I got quotes from about 5 other parties, and his was very competitive. The wall painting is painstakingly perfect - all the corners, edges, everything great. His guys installed a recirculating range hood for me also. My wife and I recommend Sunrise Contractor for a future project
