Santini Stone

We would strongly recommend against doing business with this company. We signed an agreement to have a granite countertop installed by Santini and paid half the estimated price as a deposit. Because the wall dimensions in our 100-year old house are not completely square, the contractor who had installed the cabinets upon which the countertop would be placed strongly recommended that a template be developed to guide the cutting of the countertop. When Santini representatives failed to prepare such a template when they came to measure for the countertop, we and the cabinet contractor each contacted Santini insisting on the necessity of a template. Despite this, the Santini employee who conducted the second visit (and who also arrived many hours later than scheduled, which made it impossible for me to be present) also failed to produce a template. Dissatisfied, we immediately contacted Santini to cancel our order and to seek return of our deposit. To have allowed Santini to proceed with cutting a piece of granite without a template would have risked an even larger problem if it didn?t fit properly. We were told a Mr. Santini would need to talk to us about the return of the deposit. Despite a half dozen subsequent phone calls and two visits to the Santini office, Mr. Santini has made no attempt to contact us in return. We ultimately had no alternative but to seek redress in small claims court.
