Scott showed up to look at the job when he said he would. I got the sense he was in a time of his life that was very busy. He got me a price in 3 days. The crew showed up on the scheduled time and the project went according to plan. I live in melrose in an old house with old heart pine floors. Some of the boards needed to be replaced. Anyone who knows wood, is aware that new heart pine doesn't have the character of old heart pine. Thankfully, Scott brought some scraps of old flooring he had saved from previous jobs. The patchwork was beautiful. It completely preserved the historical integrity of the house and floors. Everything was sanded with 3 coats of poly. Scott is a talented guy that works hard. He is a family man and it was reflected in the way he spoke to my own - respectful and courteous. I was very pleased with the quality of work and price.

HORROR STORY. I work in real estate construction and this guy is a nightmare for quality and attitude. I made the mistake of hiring Scott from Premier Wood Flooring twice. The first time to refinish/install oak floors at a house in Milton. He claimed he used 3 coats of poly but dirt quickly showed unfinished sections where the poly roller missed, sawdust in his poly, and the wood in one room did not match the adjacent room. Customer was irate! The second time was for an apartment in the South End, Boston. Across a 5 ft span, the floor was unleveled by 2 inches! Not an exaggeration. The wood he used was junk - dark knots and splintered which he tried filling with wood putty to hide. When I asked him to fix it, he started calling me names and insulting my family. Not joking. I had to find another company do the job over and my client lost a month's rent. There are many great floor sanding companies out there. Learn from my mistake. DO NOT work with Scott Nguyen of Premier Wood Flooring.

I choose this provider based on good reviews on the Angie's List, a reasonable estimate, and availability during the week we
planned floor refinishing. The provider came to our house, accepted (and
quickly cashed) a deposit and schedule the job. However, when the day
came, Scott brought his brother Tony with two other workers (Signature Hardwood
Flooring) who actually did the job, without my consent. I posted a separate
review for the Signature Hardwood Flooring. Things went bad; the stairs and the floor look
bad. Moreover, Signature Hardwood Flooring Co. was not able to fix the problems they created themselves. For example,
they missed the threshold when they did floor refinishing. When I ask them to
finish the threshold, they removed it, took outside for sanding, and then glued
it back. After the glue dried out and expanded, we could not close the door. After
several days of unsuccessful and angry attempts by Tony, Scott came and fixed
the problem finally. He had to fix many other problems his brother created, but
refused to fix ugly gaps between floor boards that were left unfilled during
refinishing. When I mentioned Angie's List review, he said he was too busy with
jobs to care about customer reviews. Perhaps, if Premier Wood Flooring would do
the job, all would not went so bad. But we were unlucky. Watch out when you
hire this provider.

We contacted Scott Nguyen at Premier Wood Flooring Co. on a recommendation from friends who had just refinished all the floors in their new house using Premier. My wife and I took carpet out of the two bedrooms and removed all the staples and tack strips in preparation. Scott stopped by for a few minutes to take a look at our floors and we had a quote by email in about 4 days. We scheduled them for the next week: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Scott and his crew came on Wednesday morning and did all their work while we were at work. We came home after the first day and the floors were all sanded and the first coat was applied. Two days later they had all three coats of poly applied. They did a good job of cleaning up the dust, there was only a little left on the baseboards that we needed to cleanup before we painted.
The work was pretty straightforward, during the work we didn't communicate with Scott. On the last day I texted him to arrange payment and ask a few questions like, when we could move furniture in. We have a couple more rooms to do in the future and will be using Premier Wood Flooring again.

This company was highly recommended by my neighbor, and after researching a number of other companies on Angie's List I went with them. They were most responsive and I felt I could work with them well. They were willing to work with me to obtain the exact pre finished flooring I was looking for. The process took 4 solid days. They cleaned up fairly well each evening. They were very professional and did an amazing job. In the end, they have transformed our house into a home. Love it and would recommend them to anyone.

Scott came by and gave a quote. He was on-time and honest with the assessment. Our floors were pretty beat up and some of the boards had to be replaced. Scott said he'd match boards as close as he could and we could barely tell the difference. We happened to be going away and Scott arranged his schedule to get the job done while we were gone. The floors looked amazing when it was all said and done. It was done on time and for a great price. I can't recommend Premier Wood Flooring enough. They did a really outstanding job and we'd highly recommend them to anyone.

We were referred to Premiere through another flooring contractor. We had about 450 sq ft of hardwood refinished plus the stair treds. Went with oil based poly and traditional sanding over water based and dustless sanding. We were pleased that Premiere understood that our 1860's home needed a bit different attention than a typical hardwood refinish. Poly was applied with rollers and mops instead of a T-bar, which would not have worked so well with the numerous gaps and holes that have occurred over time, and the oil poly brought out many unique characteristics of the floor. They filled in old radiator holes with reclaimed wood to blend in with the typical character.Work pretty much began right away and they were finished in 4 days. Had a few drips of poly from the stair refinish and they quickly removed and repainted patches of wall where the poly dripped. Our place was pretty dusty in many spots, I would probably go with dustless sanding in the future if given the option, especially if I was living in the space while work was happening.I feel that it's pretty typical of dealing with contractors, but I really had to keep on the calls to arrange payment and key return. Overall we are please with the outcome.

Scott estimated the job and provided a quote on the spot. His crew arrived and did the sanding, removal and installation, and first coat of finish in one day - phenomenal!
The installation of flooring on the second floor landing involved a lot of cut and fit in a small space but came out perfect - very impressive.
No mess - no fuss. This is my and quot;go toand quot; wood floor solution.

We needed the floor patched in our dining room where a wall had been removed. Similarly, the floor in our hallway had to be patched then the entire hallway refinished. However, the rest of the floors, all connected, were in great shape. We have two young children and did not want to have to refinish all the floors on the entire first floor (we are expecting scratching from the kids' toys). I explained to Scott that I wanted the floors to look good (not perfect now) but I wanted them to be done so that they could be refinished in 10 years and be perfect then. Scott completely understood. In addition, Scott agreed that the threshold between our living room and dining room was ill-fitting and suggested how he could fix that.
We were able to sleep in the house while the work was going on (we couldn't be there between 9am and 5pm). They carefully taped plastic across our hallways to create barriers so the sawdust didn't go everywhere and, in the area where the work was being done, they covered everything (furniture, counters, smoke detectors) with plastic.
We couldn't believe how well the floors came out. Scott salvaged red oak from a job he had just done to patch our floors He spot- sanded the corner in the dining room where the floor was patched and refinished it. And, although upon close inspection you can see, if shown, where the work was done, I do not think is not noticeable, especially once the chairs are in the dining room (and I am extremely picky). Similarly, the hallway looks amazing.
