Keohane Electric

After we called Michael Keohane, they came in 40 minutes. One guy came in, opened up the switch in the secondary bathroom, found nothing. Then another man came in later, this time they opened the main control panel at the entrance and figured out the circuit breaker of the secondary bathroom was in the main bathroom. So by pressing the reset button in the main bathroom, the problem was fixed. But after their visit, there was a grounding problem in the outlet of the laundry room. And it caused a power surge later when we used the washer! The water hoses were burnt, water was leaking to the floor. It took us a week to schedule an appointment with the manufacturer's maintenance service to have a technician coming to our home. He checked the washer and said it was no doubt the problem was with the outlet. And we knew we just bought the washer a month ago, and washer was functioning well before the electrician's visit. Then we called Michael Keohane telling him it may be their fault of damaging the ground wire during the last visit, Michael became very defensive and denied it was because of their work. In addition, before they came in, they never mentioned how much was their service fee until they found that reset button. I couldn't believe for this kind of fix, they ask for $245.

Wow ! These guys are the gold standard for contractors. Responded to initial inquiry in under 30 min. Gave a solid quote based on photos sent through text. Stuck to the quote. Came in 15 min early on the scheduled day/time. Completed the job quickly. Cleaned up properly, and then gave some great advice on other potential improvements I wanted to make. I will be calling them back for more electrical jobs - for sure !

Mike fit me in on a weekend, arrived promptly, and was both competent & very friend.  After the work was over, we talked tech about boilers, and he's extremely knowledgable about them.  He knew the internal details of both of my 2 Burnhams, so I'll let him service those too in the future.

He was able to make an appointment on short notice, did the work that required, cleaned up after he was finished, and even charged me less than he had quoted me over the phone. I couldn't ask for better service.

Michael Keohane came promptly when we had scheduled for the appointment. He brought a helper so he could help fish lines. I asked him to upgrade the wiring, since it appeared to be quite old, perhaps 80 years old when the garage was built. He evaluated the underground conduit and determined that fishing a new wire was not feasible and replacement would require digging up the underground pipe. He was able to look at the wire and determine the lead sheathing had provided excellent protection for the wiring. He replaced the other wiring in the circuit. Inside the main house he rewired from the junction box where the wire entered the house directly to a new fuse in the main breaker panel. It had been wired to a very old panel with other circuits. The garage now has its own fuse. Inside the garage he rewired the outlet, which had been a very odd looking very old outlet wired annoyingly with the light switch. It is now a modern GFI outlet wired separately from the switch.
