Very professional in every respect. Got back quickly to my initial inquiry and set up an appointment to review the job. Ken answered all my questions and further questions over e-mail. His team showed up on the date/time agreed on to install the boiler. It was a little chilly on that date (arrive at 8:00A) and stated that they would done by 300P. They hit that target on the nose. The quality of the installation was excellent. Big bonus point, the estimate for the job was very reasonable. They were pleasant to work with and I would hire Ken in a heartbeat.

I called several plumbers for a quote to clean the sediment from my tankless water heater. Ken was one of the only two companies who returned my call (the other one was a large franchise that charged the same price). The plumber showed up promptly at the beginning of the service time window, and was efficient and professional throughout the job. He also provided good advice on the suggested frequency of service, and the advantages of tankless water heaters versus a hot water tank. I will definitely call McConnell Plumbing and Heating again for my plumbing needs.

Great. They were very professional and prompt with the work. He was glad to either come out himself or to have one of his foremen come out to have the system drained to clean out the crud amassed by the old system. This winter was excellent and our water and energy bills went down significantly

Ken & crew did a great job. Ken gave us a competitive quote, and was able to get started about 6 weeks after we accepted his quote. There was clear communication about what we wanted done, the crew showed up as we were leaving each morning and it was exciting to come home & see the progress made! You can tell Ken & team cares about what they're doing, it was a nice clean install with neat plumbing. Because we had the work done over the summer, we haven't had a chance to experience the savings on the gas heat yet, but I'm sure it will be wonderful. In addition to the oil-gas conversion, we also asked them to hook up a new gas stove, and remove a section of baseboard from the kitchen. Ultimately, we'll be hooking up toe kick heat to replace the baseboard that was removed, and we'll definitely be calling Ken back to do that work.

First time experience with Ken McConnell was positive all the way, and we would recommend him without reservation.
Ken examined our old boiler that we were dissatified with, pointing out poor aspects of the prior installation as well.  He listened well as we described our usage needs and recommended several brands for replacement for our consideration.  Having done some research, we knew his recommendations to be quality oriented.  Ken ordered, delivered, and installed the new boiler with an additional crew member, a fairly complicated project involving separate supply lines for radiant heat and household water, quite time consuming.  
Ken spent extra time explaining the detailed operations and functions, emphasizing safety aspects, and installed an additional CO2 detector at the location, then took care of government inspections required to obtain the permit.  HIs working style was unobtrusive, orderly, clean.
We were impressed with Ken's intelligence, plumbing skills, resourcefulness, communication skills and integrity.  We like that he returns phone calls and emails promptly.  He has been punctual for every visit.  A consummate professional all the way.
We have already enlisted him for a new project, and intend to keep him in our active rolodex.  We like that he is nearby, can respond promptly in emergencies, and has a crew to back him up during busy times.  He is busy, so that's important.  
His hourly rates are around the median for this area.   We think that's fine, especially given that the quality of workmanship is well above median.

It went very smoothly. They advised me to buy a fixture myself because it was cheaper and they installed it.

Went fine. Had the replacement part on his truck so my heat was back and running in less than an hour.

They corrected the angle of the pipe (over 100 years old), and snaked the pipes before and after the new pipe. All leaks are gone. They even moved up the date when the leaking became worse over Thanksgiving weekend.

They were a top notch experience. The service took about 3 or 4 days, and they were incredibly professional, and they cleaned up professionally at the end of everyday. The quality of installation according to what I have been told by others is a top notch installation.

I thought this would be a match made in heaven because he lives 5 minutes from me, has his own business, and is friendly and seemingly intelligent. It took him 5 minutes to figure out why I didn't have any heat, 20 minutes to pick up the part, and15 minutes to install it. The problem is that he charged me $350 for the job. The part only cost $125 so that means I paid $225 for 45 minutes labor. When I asked him why, he said that's how much he charges to replace a circulator. I said, and quot;Oh, so you don't charge by the hour?and quot; and he said, and quot;No.and quot; If you're considering hiring him, make sure to ask the price up front.

I am pleasantly surprised by Ken McConnell and is crew. They were efficient, on time and very friendly. Anytime, my husband and I had a question they would answer like they cared about what we were asking (other providers I have seen roll their eyes like they could care less about what you were asking). I called Ken to confirm my date stating my heat was out and he pushed the time of installation up by a whole week. Very good Service. They were also clean, and best of all tucked my water heater in the corner so now I have about 2 feet more room in my basement. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again.

I did not know Ken McConnell prior to my project. He was the plumber subcontracted by the builder. Ken and his crew were professional, curteous and excellent plumbers. They listened to all of my requests and needs, and I couldn't have been happier with them. When my project was complete, Ken always returned my calls if anything plumbing related came up. His guys were here either the same day that I called, or the next day. I only use Ken for my plumbing needs now, and I am always pleased with the workmanship and the price.
Of all of the workers that were a part of my project, Ken McConnell is the only one that I have continued using long after my project was completed.

We have hired Ken McConnell several times in the past. Everything went smoothly and the new gas system is working great. There was a little delay in scheuling as we had to hire a chimney sweep. It was faster for me to do it so I contacted Boxford Chimney, a referral from Ken. They did the chimney estimate on a Saturday, got in touch directly with Ken about timing and then I was able to schedule the whole thing for the following Wednesday.
Ken's assistant arrived a little early and started getting set up then Ken arrived right on time and they got started. The chimney sweep arrived at the pre-arranged time and did their work for an hour or so. Ken worked until the afternoon when the electrician came in to do his work and then they did final testing of the system.
Overall, very good experience and very pleased.

McConnell Plumbing was what all family plumbing operations should be --- they were prompt in returning my call, scheduling the appointment and showing up. They diagnosed the problem quickly and got right down to fixing it. The cost was reasonable --- in line with the estimate they had given.
I've now used them twice --- once Ken's uncle, once his brother --- and they are good natured, communicative and professional. I will undoubtedly use them again.

This was not an emergency repair. I called on a Monday and they scheduled me for Thursday 8 am. The plumber arrived right on time. He diagnosed the problem quickly and went right to work and had the leaking shutoff valve fixed within 10 minutes. The plumber was very nice, personable, professional, and fully answered some other questions I had about plumbing. Total time spent was about 25 minutes. I couldn't have conceived of better service.

I had recently purchased a house which had a water heater that was just out of warranty. I thought I might have until the spring to replace it but suddenly leaked and I was scrambling to find a plumber to fix it. My neighbours gave me Ken McConnell's number and he quoted me for both a tank replacement and a new tankless install. With the rebates and tax credit the tankless system came in a little over double the cost but with the energy savings and longer life span I thought it was worth the conversion. To top that off McConnell came in at $200 less than another quote I got.

I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. They were prompt, friendly and professional, coming in at 8:30am the day after I accepted the bid. They installed the unit on the wall and vented it through the side of the house, removed the old water heater and installed a hardwired carbon monoxide detector to replace my battery operated one. They even threw in a hookup for my steam dryer into the deal. If needed I would hire them again in a heart beat.
