She helps me prioritize material, the stuff that I'm gonna keep is organized in a fashion that I can find it again in the future when I need to. She helps me understand why I'm holding on to some things and while other thing will be thrown away, or donated. She actually locate things I'm willing to donate with her.

Awful experience. Very little accomplished. She Got flustered about the schedule. We had agreed to meetings once or twice a week. She only had time for me once a month starting in January 2014, 2c at which time we had emptied 2closets , 2c the contents of which she did not want me to move without her because she planned to store some things in plastic containers which she never brought. She sent multiple emails and texts to me to rearrange the meeting schedule almost daily while I was at work. Her voice and her emails were pleasant but she is not a pleasant person. We had signed a contract agreeing that if I missed a session there would be an $80 fee. I never missed a session. Then she said she wanted extra money for time spent arranging the schedule. That was not in the contract. When I reminded her that was not in the contract she texted me " this business relationship is over". I would recommend that Jennifer Hunter does not belong on Angie's list! Cluttered Worse

"This client was very happy with my work until I chose to stop working with her, at which time she threatened to "post a scathing review to Angie's List" if I left. There are many inaccuracies in this review. I hope potential clients will take it with a grain of salt."

She is creative, funny, and we have a great rapport. She keeps a positive tone, and keeps me on-task in a gentle way so that we can accomplish more sorting, organizing, and purging of unwanted stuff. She is my partner in the process, not ordering me what to do nor making me run the show. She appreciates my priorities about what I want to keep--we are both artists and nerds with unusual hobbies. She understands the emotional/familial aspect of clutter, and is sensitive to clients' strong feelings around it, and encourages me to save and pitch according to what I deeply feel. She knows that de-cluttering is a slow but steady process, and praises me, jokes around, and keeps me at it even when the big picture seems overwhelming. I have done several sessions with her over the last year, and I want to continue to have her over every couple of months or so. We have made great progress with our little house, and our sessions inspire me to keep organizing between visits.

Jen helped me get from piles of chaos to a house I could invite strangers to.  She's a little bit compulsive about organization, and harnessed this extremely well into working with me; she motivated me to tear through immense quantities of cruft and kept me from getting distracted or bogged down in whatever personal issues I have with Stuff and Cleaning.  We literally removed half a ton of stuff from my apartment.  She was also really good at working with how I think about organization, and leaving me with a result that I was happy with.  (That, or she was really good at getting me to do it myself.  She's clever.)  I didn't ever feel like I was pushed into a decision I was uncomfortable with while working with her.
She's honest and conscientous to a fault, and charged a very reasonable rate.
I've backslid some, and I need to do some more work again, but my life is otherwise rather busy.  I'll call her without hesitation when I can do so.

Jen is always right on time (or communicates on the rare occasions when she is running a few minutes late). She is very responsive to requests for sessions--always getting back to me quickly--often within hours--with a list of her available times. She is also very flexible when I need to cancel or reschedule.
She is great to work with. She does the
standard stuff of helping me go through papers and files and either discarding
or recycling or putting certain records in less accessible storage areas to
reserve prime space for the things I need frequent access to, but the most
impressive thing is that she is very creative about how to use existing
storage, how to organize pieces of furniture for the least clutter and
confusion. While she charges more than some other organizers, this creative
intelligence makes her well worth the cost. I accomplish more working with Jen
for two hours than I have working with other organizers for much longer. We had
worked for some years with another organizer who charged half as much, and
while things would look a little better for a couple of days, there was no
overall improvement. Working with Jennifer has brought significant improvement
to our home; people who visit who haven't been here for a while often express
pleased surprise at how good things look.  Jennifer sells "packages"
in which you get 12 hours for the cost of 10 by paying in advance; I think we
are now on our third package, and I am never sorry that we have spent the money
or the time to work with her. I am self-employed with a home office, and
working with Jen has made our home a pleasanter place and has allowed me to
become more productive in my work.

I had a great time working with Jen.  She is smart, funny and realistic about how people actually live.  I loved that she worked alongside me - it was much more efficient that way.  She also took anything I was throwing away with her if it could be used elsewhere.  That made me feel better about getting rid of things, because A) they were out of my house immediately, and B) she clearly had a catalog of places where things might be useful - charities, sales, etc.
I would definitely use Jen again!

Jen came on time and took care to explain her process clearly. She listened to me carefully and asked questions to make sure she understood what I was looking for. I needed to stay within a budget and together we made a game plan which mostly has involved her processing lots of old paperwork. Some of it is very precious to me but the challenge was finding and identifying those special things in a sea of other stuff.

Initially I spent a lot of time alongside Jen to be sure that the filing system worked well and made sense to me. She put anything she was going to toss or shred in a separate pile for me to review. I gave her feedback as she went and very quickly she figured out what I wanted to save and what I wanted to toss. At this point I now turn everything over to her unsorted and trust that she will know what to do with it. She files, tosses, shreds, and leaves me small to-do piles and sometimes a small pile she has questions about. On the rare occasion that cant find something she has filed, I have texted her and she usually responds immediately. She has an uncanny memory and can usually tell me exactly what it has been filed under. My house is very small so Jen works in my living room. She always leaves things neat and put away when she is done.

In addition to filing, Jen has brought me supplies and helped me archive special documents safely for long-term storage. She takes care of shredding and recycling discarded papers for me. She makes suggestions along the way to help make the rest of my house run smoothly. We worked together for a day to reclaim a basement junk room and her suggestions were practical, efficient and elegant. Unlike other organizers I have known, she rarely suggests that I buy anything.

I have found Jen to be very easy to work with on the business side. Her pricing is fair and she explains it clearly upfront. She has been clear and realistic about what she can do for what price. She has always done better than her initial estimates with me and there has been no surprises.

One of the things I have liked about most Jen is that she is able to calmly tackle what seems to be an overwhelmingly large project and break it down into manageable pieces that work for my budget and for the time I have to give to the project. She is always cheerful and seems to really love the work. It has taken a lot of the anxiety out of handing this project off to someone else; it is actually fun for me to have her in the house, happily humming and pausing to ask occasional questions as she works through massive piles of papers.

She was patient, sensitive, nonjudgmental, and diplomatic. She helped me part with lots of paperwork and other clutter, coaxing me to release things I really didn't really need anymore without triggering the usual intense resistance to giving things up that I've tended to experience when pushed too hard to declutter. More than just helping me get rid of clutter, she helped me look at my attachment to"stuff" much more objectively. I didn't suddenly become Martha Stewart, but she helped me to start becoming less of a packrat.

used time wisely, very anticipatory re where and what things got sorted. Took many things away that o0uld be useful to others but no longer usefull to me. Consulted in real tme re value of some items with resource contacts over phone. Not afraid of dust and close quarters. Made good suggestions re shelf placement of what I planned to keep, Respected my choices re what to keep vs throw away, made more trips up and down stairs than I did, Very organized. Very personable.

She came on multiple dates for 3 hrs at a time. We went through stuff together, including paperwork on one day. She helped me to get rid of a lot of things that I had been holding onto for years. She was not pushy or judgmental in any way. But she was able to help me make sensible decisions about what was worth saving and what really wasn't. She also taught me some organizational techniques that have been very helpful to me, long after she was here. She was always on time, and was very hardworking the entire time she was here. I find it hard to stay focused on this task in particular, so she kept me focused, with the added energy and skill she brings to it (which might be like three of me efficiency wise in this area). Over the years I have spent plenty of money on containers and folders and stuff to organize - that never really worked in the long run. If you have an organizational problem with STUFF, or trouble parting with it, this will be money well spent.

I needed a professional organizer. There was an article in the Angie's List magazine on Home Organizing which I followed up. That person was not available and gave me the contact details for Find Your Floor. I wrote a favorable report on this service previously, but that was before the work was finished. This person just quit on me, on Christmas Eve, and left me with half the job unfinished. She attacked my character, my sanity, everything about me, that I was too wicked to work for. She insisted on payment up front before she did anything, and that was over $1000 for so many hours, before she would even start that chunk of work. She was sure that she got her money on time. She had a rebellious attitude, which didn't really bother me. I enjoyed her completely and it so surprised me. I have very bad ADHD and needed her help so badly. What she did get done was good, but to leave it like she did, was not organized. I have to start all over again, and I paid her thousands of dollars. She was here from late September, and she thought she was giving me a discount, but she charged me for every little thing that she did, including transportation, and it ended up to be quite a bit of money. You had to pay up front for so many hours, and the more hours you paid for, the more the discount. She brought along other people that she would recommend who cost more on top. She charged me for doing research work to find these people, and I thought they were people that she already had in her reference and was just trying to find which one was available and whatever. She already had pictures of my place before this happened and I didn't want her to use them. Whether she has or not, I don't know. I was pleased with her: this came as a shock and hurt me greatly. She worked hard but she didn't organize. She would 'pre-sort' things which I didn't understand. I wanted things to go where they were going to end up, but she said "We don't know where they are going to go," so I have all these boxes and cartons full of paper and not even sorted as to what goes with what. I wanted her to help me sort my house out so that it worked for my lifestyle. She was not careful with my prized possessions. I didn't hire her because I am lazy, I hired her because I have a learning disorder called ADHD, and she knew that. She gave me a long contract to fill out, which made me think I should have written one for her. Everything about me, I told her. There were no surprises. She wasn't afraid of offering her opinion on anything. She wasn't always happy, but I was happy with her. It was a hardship for me to find the amount of money she required. I think it is very difficult to find professional organizers or anyone that falls in to that kind of category that are affordable and get down to the nitty-gritty. She wouldn't clean anything.
Response from Find Your Floor
"I am confident that I did my absolute best for this client. She initially gave me a very favorable review, and when I chose to stop working with her in December, we parted ways with no hard feelings. Now, over five months later, possibly because I have stopped taking her calls, she has revised her review to be extremely negative. I'm very saddened by it. I hope that any Angie's List members reading this will give me the benefit of the doubt."

She works so hard! She is extremely thorough and helps keep me on track. She keeps me involved with everything and has made it such a fun project.  She makes sure that everything that needs to be trashed is trashed and things that need to be donated are donated. She has been wonderful. She is very accommodating in every way possible. I can also tell that she has her business well organized herself. She also gives you spreadsheets that show everything that has been done.

With Find your floor, I could be honest when I was still attached to things, and we'd talk over the decision to give things away.  This made it much easier to make good choices.  When each session was done, the trash and give away were gone!  That gave a great sense of accomplishment and money well spent.

Each time Jen came, she was right on time and ready to jump right in, taking one room at a time: Prioritizing, organizing, discarding, filing, suggesting way and system to simply my life. We did closets, filing cabinets, storage systems, kitchen cabinets and draws, music storage, actually everything in my entire home. She is amazing at what she can accomplish in a short amount of time. She is in incredibly efficient and yet very personable. She made the entire process comfortable for me and anxiety free. With out a doubt I would give her my highest recommendation. I would say this was the best experience I have ever had with a service professional.

I moved to a new apartment in July. My parents gifted with me Jennifer's services, however, her prices are very reasonable. Jennifer and I worked over 4 sessions for a total of 12 hours total. I wasn't sure what to expect but it turned out to be just what I needed. Jennifer doesn't "push" ideas on you or tell you what you can and cannot keep. She works with what you have and what your priorities are. One of the great things about her was that stuff you didn't want to necessarily throw away, she would take and donate for you. Things are not wasted or thrown away unless absolutely necessary. I have ADD so I'm interested in organization but don't always have the focus to finish the job. She was gentle about helping me to keep on task. Sometimes I took the lead in making decisions, while she physically organized things and sometimes it was the other way around depending on the mood or difficulty of the task for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for this kind of help in their lives.

I was told that the most important thing in hiring an organizer is a personality that meshes with yours and Jennifer's does! I love working with her. She never tells me what I HAVE to get rid of, just offers advice on what I might want to get rid of. We have sorted piles of paper, organized my kitchen, including clearing one counter I had just about given up on, and freed my dining room surfaces from extra piles of junk. She sees clutter as a personal challenge and really can't wait to dig in and help you get rid of it. She is nonjudgmental about what you have and what you keep. We are working at a pace that allows you to really see a difference after every session and she is setting things up in a way that allows me to maintain the progress between sessions so we never have to redo what was already done but can jump in to the next place on the list. It is so wonderful to be able to sit at my desk and work, cook in my kitchen and use the dining room for its intended purpose! We still have many rooms and a garage to do, and I cannot wait to see the final results!

I really enjoy working with Jen.  My fears when originally hiring an organizer have proved baseless.  I was concerned that an organizer would be dictatorial and force me to do things or get rid of things.  Jen has never done that.  She continues to be supportive, making suggestions, explaining the reasoning behind her thoughts, and never forcing me to do anything I am not ready to do.  I have a new house and two active boys, so Jen's services in setting things up and helping me be ready to purge as needed is invaluable.  Through her gentle reminders and pushing I have been able to take steps to purge things I didn't think I was ready to let go of when we first started.  It is very liberating and I still enjoy the space every time we are done with something.

Our basement flooded in the middle of February due to a broken water line outside our house. What a nightmare! After another companies guys had drained out the water and a sump pump had been installed, we still had to sort through the ruined things and document what was beyond hope, clean what could be salvaged, and restore the basement to order in general. We wanted to go beyond that, actually, and make sure everything would be up on plastic shelving or risers, make sure things were organized in sensible places, and have more room to move in the cluttered basement. Jennifer Hunter (who formerly called her company Find Your Floor, which we thought was adorable) came in and helped us make tough decisions about what to keep and what to toss. She also helped make our basement layout much more sensible -- little things like keeping the freezer near the bottom of the stairs because we use it most often, and big things like putting all the camping supplies on the same shelving unit. She worked very hard to help us clean everything and find everything a proper place. She helped us donate things we could no longer use that were still usable, and she was very devoted to recycling what couldn't be reused. Jennifer and her assistant carted things up and down our basement stairs, sorted things into various piles, and generally worked out perfectly for us. We didn't ask beforehand how long this project would take, which we should have done. It ended up being three or four visits of all of us working together for three or four hours at a time. We got a lot done, but my unrealistic expectations for timeline probably should have been challenged before we started the project.

I live in a very small apartment that is sorely lacking in storage space. I used to say that I didn't have room for anything. But thanks to Jennifer, I now have room to spare. This is miraculous! Jennifer's attention to detail is impeccable (but not annoying), and her ability to keep me on task without being overbearing is amazing. You'd think that after a few hours I'd be on my last nerve, but she keeps the process pleasant and (dare I say) fun. Bringing an organizer into your home is a very personal decision; you're basically letting a stranger see your foibles. But it's so very worth it. I cannot speak highly enough of her valuable service! She will even put you on her email list, where she sends out easy organization tips and reminders once per month. They are very helpful, and they keep me committed to the process.
