COTTING PLUMBING AND HEATING

Many plumbers don't work on hot tubs (perhaps they are tricky), but I called Cotting from a reference on Angie's List and they were better, faster and less expensive that all the rest.  I have a new plumber!  Jim is great!  

I have worked with Cotting a number of times and been very happy with them each time.  I work with Jim and he's great.  For this time, I had a non-urgent issue that he squeezed in quickly.  I thought I had more serious issues than I did, and he discovered it was just a clogged valve and loose nut.  In previous times I had Jim replace my water heater and also fix a burst pipe.  In both cases, Jim fixed the issues quickly, explained exactly what had happened, and in the case of the water heater, was very reasonably priced.
I will continue to use Cotting for my future plumbing work.

Jim did a fantastic job at about half the price of his competitors. I got quotes from three other plumbers and all them either came up with much more complicated and more expensive solutions. Jim had a easy solution that worked really well. As for the toliet, I searched high and low for a toilet that would fit in the tiny bathroom space and couldn't find one. None of the three other plumbers I mentioned could suggest a model that would work either. Jim immediately knew of a model that would fit and on top of it it was an elongated model. Prior to him I was resigned to a round bowl.
Jim is a really nice guy too. My only complaint is that it's sometimes hard to reach him.

It went very well. My heating system is a steam boiler and after I filled it up to what I thought it should be on the sight glass. It started to actually overflow through the radiator in my kitchen, all over the floor, and seeped down to my basement area. I managed to stop the leak by draining some of the water out of the boiler. After cleaning up most of the water, I called Cotting Plumbing which was listed as a 24-hour emergency service plumber. After leaving a message with the answering service, Jim called me right back and came out within a 2-hour window. Jim told me that I actually overflowed the boiler since the the sight glass was not accurate. Jim finished draining the boiler and re-filled it and cleaned the sight glass. I was glad he was available and told him that I needed a plumber and that I would use his company from now on.

This is the second time Cotting's been to our condo to help with plumbing needs. I liked that they had a workable, low-cost solution to the immediate problem. They came about an hour after, I called to say I couldn't operate the cold water knob. We will call them again if this doesn't stay fixed. We were given the choice to fix it for more money. But we'll wait and see, so far it's been ok for 5 month and or if we have new plumbing needs.
