Brazusa Stone Co

We're pretty satisfied with the result, but getting there wasn't exactly ideal. Brazusa is a small stone fabricator. It sells itself on its expertise in exotic stone, and they did seem to know what they were talking about. After we selected our stone slab, we were able to work with them and lay out the countertop template on the actual slab we ordered so that we could accent the features of the stone we liked most. They cut a very nice countertop, and their price was very attractive. On the negative, it turned out that template was not measured as precisely as we could apparently have gotten elsewhere, which required that quite a bit of plaster cutting when it was installed. It's pretty standard for houses in these areas not to have perfectly straight walls, so we were surprised how much this was not accounted for. Probably the biggest criticism is that the installation was NOT inspiring. I had to babysit them the whole time and point out details that were missed. At one point, they looked as if they were ready to glue down the counter when it was visibly not straight. I really prefer to not to henpeck craftsmen while they're doing their job, so I wouldn't have been watching closely if I didn't get such a strong sense that something would be done wrong if I weren't paying attention. It also turned out that their warranty is pretty informal, though they certainly seem earnest about following up with their customers. If I'd realized that that time, I probably wouldn't have contracted with them. Then again, the counter looks fabulous, and I don't think I'll need any warranty work, so take what you want from this review.
