Borges was great - hired them to replace a lead water service line and a sewer pipe. Good price, quick service and they worked with the city very efficiently.

After having reoccurring sewer backups, called Borges to do a sewer inspection. Stephen came right out, did the inspection, walked me through the issues and gave me reasonable options to adress my problem.

.I called on a day of extreme rains. My waste line was partially blocked. my problem was unrelated to the weather)  but I knew that the company was going to be busy responding to other customers because of basement floodings and backups.
They were able to stop by the same day. I was flexible about the time and they arrived just when they said they would. The problem was resolved quickly. Professional and friendly. Willing and able to explain where and why I had a problem. Their pricing is reasonable. All in all a good deal. I have used them once in the past (four years back) and would do so again without hesitation.

It went great.  They were professional, showed me the camera view of the inside of our sewer drain, explained to me everything they saw, checked out another drain pipe that goes under our basement floor.  They provided advice (that turned out to be correct) about what they thought the problem was (it wasn't our sewer drain) and who we should contact to take care of that problem.

Outstanding. The town had replaced the water and gas mains in our street. As they were reconnecting our house to the street line, the town contractors observed that our water main was original to the house (built 1917) and a "ticking time bomb." Our plumber recommended Steve Borges to replace the waterline. We can't say enough good things--Steve came promptly, knew his stuff, was able to schedule us right away, got the job done in less than a day. We have a newly-renovated basement and there was some question about whether we would have to tear down some built-in closets to excavate the waterline--Steve figured out a way around that. In drilling out the old water line he hit some fairly stubborn ledge. Some contractors would have used that as a reason to deviate from the estimate--Steve stuck to the estimate and got the job done. Everything was protected in plastic, clean-up was exemplary, and we are very, very happy with his work. Heartily recommend!

They looked at the pipe via video which they took off the price of the job, warned us about damage to the garden so we had time to prepare, gave us an estimate and stuck to the estimate even though the work was more than they had anticipated due to the depth of the pipe and amount of rock. The job was neatly done and all debris removed and rock/soil replaced. They even offer to reseed but the pipe went through a flower bed. I absolutely LOVE their internet contract and billing system, every business should have one! The electronic signature process sped up the job.

Winter was so hard and cold, it destroyed the drywell at the base of our downsloping driveway. Borges returned my first call right away, and they were extremely responsive throughout the process. Although the asking price was a little more than some others we received, it was worth it because they were willing to perform the installation of a new drywell within a few days. Other companies wanted to wait until the weather warmed up, which would have meant many oportunities for water to end up in our house - obviously not a satisfactory solution. Borges dug out the old drywell and installed a new one, and also installed a back-up drain at the edge of the garage to catch any flow that missed the main well. The work was done quickly and with high quality. The part of the driveway that was excavated for the new well was repaved, with attention to the proper slope for drainage. These folks did a fine job and were easy to deal with. We would definitely use them again for a similar service and they can particularly be counted on in an emergency or difficult circumstance.

Borges Sewer & Drain Cleaning Co did a great job. It was a complicated job and involved a lot of fill and different types of requirements to fill the hole back up. They had to repaved the surface, as well. They were very well-organized and did the job really well. I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with them.

My sewer line has been a problem for more than 10 years (backing up due to tree roots), but I had trouble finding someone to fix it because I live on a very busy street with a lot of underground utilities. I tried to deal with the problem by having the drain line cleaned out about once a year. Sometimes it would flood if I let it go too long, but last summer it flooded again in a very unpleasant way and I vowed to finally get it fixed. I joined Angie's list just to find a good contractor for the job.Steven Borges came out to look at the job shortly after I called (maybe the next day) and he gave me a verbal quote on the spot! The amount was very reasonable compared to previous quotes I had gotten--years ago one guy's quote was, "it will be very expensive" and the others who gave me a dollar estimates all backed out when I offered them the job! I had to check with my neighbor who shares the drain line, but we signed a contract the next week and Steven and his crew came out to do the job the week after that. They showed up on time and finished that afternoon as promised. They did what he said they would and the final bill was the agreed price. The only rating where I even had to think about giving them an "A" was for quality. It's not that anything they did seemed wrong. The issue is that, except for the new clean-out in my basement floor (which looks nice), all the work is underground and I don't have any way to know for sure that the problem is really fixed. Did they install he new pipe properly? Will the tree roots come back? At the end of the day, Steven told me that his father warned him he had underbid the job. He said we were both lucky that further excavation--complicated by some electrical utilities--was not required. Unfortunately, I was out when they videoed the pipe to determine the stopping point and I didn't get to see it for myself. On the other hand, the policeman on duty confirmed what Steven told me he saw on the video and I'm not sure seeing it myself would have helped. In the end, I do give them and "A" for quality based on everything I could see. This is their business and I feel very confident that they did it right. I also give them credit for following through on the job after realizing that it might be more expensive than they estimated.

I called today, and was told someone would be there within the hour. Yay!  I didn't notice the exact time they came, but it was about then.  Two guys used a power snake to deal with the clog (a bad one, apparently), with one going to the basement to listen and call up to his partner how much further he should send the snake.  They did basic cleanup (put the gunk in the garbage and wiped the area under the sink with paper towels).  They did track some mud in on their boots; it was on a hard floor and easy for me to wipe up.
My trap plug's O ring died during my own unclogging attempts before I called them, and they advised me on getting a new one. They don't keep those on their truck, so I've got a slowly dripping leak until I can get to the hardware store. I'm OK with that, because they're a drain company, not an all-around plumbing company (although of course it would've been great if they'd had a replacement).
They were done within 20 minutes. They were friendly and polite, dealt well with my dog, and gave me a $10 Angie's List discount.

My kitchen sink/disposal goes out to the sewer through pipes with very little pitch, so pipes tend to get clogged up with garbage which accumulates in the pipes.  I got a quote from Borges and three other providers, and Borges was least of the four, with some asking close to $200. Work took only 15 minutes so even $135 seems a lot.  I won't know how thorough a job they did until I see how long it takes for the pipes to get clogged again.

If you have a problem with your drains, Borges is the company to call.  You need to have them put the tiny video camera in the pipe to see what is going on.  Borges does precision work.  Steven prides himself on this.  The team came with an excavator and did a remarkable clean-up of the garden afterwards.  Steven explained that the center of my driveway was higher now but the rain would make it level with the brick work.  He left the basement cleaner than it had been.  As for the excavation and changing of the pipes, Borges really knows what it is about.  They worked hard all day and dug a trench out to the middle of the street. Steven also found leaky pipes in the basement and fixed them.  The only reason I gave them a B on cost was that $5000 is a huge amount of money.  I know the city of Cambridge charges for work done in the street and there are permits to obtain, so I realize changing pipes costs a lot, but I had to spend savings to get the drains to the sewer functioning correctly.  The smell is gone and hopefully my tenants will no longer have any issues with slow-draining pipes.  Thank you, Steven and John Borges!

Even though this is an expense that after the work is finished, there is nothing new to admire for having spent $7,000. But the main sanitary line does work again, which is nice. Borges is good at what they do. The patch of the road where they excavated is still smooth and flat to the road.

Borges plumbing replaced an old iron pipe leading from the city water supply line into our house.  They had to excavate the sidewalk to get to the waterline.  The were able to do the job in less than one day.  They cleaned up nicely.  They replaced the concrete sidewalk that they had to excavate.  They pulled the permit from the town and managed the whole job.
They were the lowest bidder on the job by far.  So I was a little hesitant to hire them at first.  I am glad I did it.  I called the owner the next day to thank him.  I would recommend these folks highly.

They did an excellent job. They were very prompt and thorough. It was a pleasure to work with them. John gave me excellent advice and incorporated my ideas beautifully. He gave me a very reasonable and competitive bid. Using a small-sized back hoe and great skill, he was able to spare adjacent trees that other contractors wanted to write off. He also did no damage to a sidewalk and stairs that some wanted to remove. He also worked well with city and satisfied their exacting requirements for street repair.

A year after the work all is well. The sewer backups that used to be frequent are now gone. The plantings above the new pipe are growing nicely. The street repairs are still perfect. Thank you, John.

We had a great experience with them. They were very clear about what they were going to do, how long it was going to take and how much it was going to cost. They delivered exactly what they said they were going to do. It is a pretty rough industry and they were kind of rough guys, but they were fine.

They worked extremely hard and did not even break for lunch.  They returned the next morning and cleaned and restored everything that had been disrupted by the digging.  They were easy to deal with and professional.  Because the work turned out to be more extensive than anticipated, the price was probably lower than what others might have charged.  But they stuck to the original price and did not ask for additional money.

It's a family operated company, father and sons, ethical and reliable.  I highly recommend them.  This is the second time I've used them and I would certainly do so again, if necessary.  But I think the work they did will last the life of this house.

Borges Sewer & Drain Cleaning Co snaked our drain out to the street. They determined that it was actually our street being backed up. They made a call to the town and they stayed to assist the town fix the drain. Excellent service all around
