Bob is always on time, has great advice and solutions and work is on budget. I know when Bob does work, it will be done right. And, he happens to be a nice guy.

Couldn't be happier with Bob. He was referred to me by somebody else and was, from start to finish, incredibly professional and punctual. Always answered his phone, explained his process, cleaned up after himself and was more than fair with his pricing. I'd recommend Bob to anyone.

We hired Bob McNeil in the fall of 2013 to address a couple of small electrical outlets and switches. Earlier in 2014, our siding contractor suggested we contact an electrician to look at the service wire coming into the house – he felt it was showing excess ware. Given our previous positive experiences with Mr. McNeil, we did not hesitate to contact him again to provide a quote on replacing the frayed wire. Mr. McNeil offered to replace the wire. After spending time to understand our longer-term needs (…which included installing central air conditioning at a later date); he suggested it would be more economical to upgrade the service. This was because the wire he needed to replace would not be reusable if we decided to upgrade the service at a later date.
Mr. McNeil scheduled the project about one week from the date he provided the estimate. He arrived on time (...about 7:30 AM) and performed the upgrade exactly as discussed. Mr. McNeil is a true professional and always a pleasure to do business with.

It all went well, from first calling Bob to get an estimate(he came within 45 min!) to getting the work done today inspite of the snow. Meticulous, thoughtful work. Bob has a good eye for how to get a job done neatly and at the least cost. Will definitely use again in the future.

Bob is a true lifesaver!!! I called him in a panic when one of the smoke/carbon monoxide alarms in the condo began to alarm constantly, beeping and screeching "FIRE" through the whole complex. Bob took my call immediately and was at my door within the hour! He silenced the beeping instantly and was able to troubleshoot the problem within the first few minutes. He is calm, professional, personable, and extremely knowledgable. He even took me to the Home Depot to purchase the necessary replacement so that the job could be completed then and there! On top of that, the cost was cheaper than any other emergency electrical service quotes I received before I called Bob. I will definitely hire him again in the future and would recommend him to anyone looking for quality work and customer service.

Bob was a godsend....came right away when my HVAC's electrician walked off the job. Very professional, very fair, very competent...what more could you ask for?

I had a small electrical fire in my basement. Bob came out and replaced the wires that were damaged and fixed what was damaged. The job went very well. He came out on a Saturday after an emergency call to him on a Friday night. He was able to fix the problem. It wasn't really that much of a big deal, but it definitely gave me peace of mind. I was concerned that I might have a bigger problem. I have actually used him several times in the past for work in my house. He is very good to work with. He is very responsive and very professional. He is a pleasant person to work with.

Started working with Bob about 9 years ago when I updated our kitchen. For that job, he installed 6 cans, a ceiling fixture and all new outlets - came out beautifully. We used several times over the last few years as we upgraded the electric in our West Roxbury home and some repairs as we prepared to sell. Since we moved in May, we have engaged Bob to replace a large number of loose outlets and wiring that did not look right. Bob always arrives on time, works hard, cleans up well and gives you an honest assessment of what does and does not need to be done. Great guy, will definitely continue to use him.

My light under a kitchen cabinet was turning off and on by itself. My wife was screaming at me to get it fixed. I tried but was unsuccessful. I called Bob at McNeil Electric. Bob rewired my goof and tried the new transformer that I thought was n/G. It worked! I noticed that Bob is very neat and did not leave any mess. Bob told me that he charges a minimum of two hours and that he was in my house less than one hour. I could not think of any other electrical work. I asked Bob to cut me some slack and that I would use him in the future. Bob agreed and cut the bill in half.
