I have a very old stone walls along/ around  my property.  The front and side walls were probably built around the time the house was built in the 1940's. The cement between the stones were loose and as a result, the stones were loose and nearly dropping out.  The stone retaining wall in the back of the house seems to be failing - it has shifted with a section bowing out .  
I called several companies to determine the condition and inquired on how to repair the walls, and I received as many different opinions as I did estimates.  A few suggested demolishing the walls and rebuilding - which didn't make sense because the walls are standing. Jerry's advice was the only that was practical and a common sense solution.   He told me to spend little to repair what is essential and save up to get the walls rebuilt when it fails completely.  He said the wall is shifting and failing, but it may stand for years to come. 
He had his crew re-work new cement  in the front / side walls, and it's perfect.  I highly recommend Jerry and his very efficient, experienced crew. 

It went very well. They were prompt. They had a reasonable price compared to the other bids. They seem to have the full service including the bushes and stuff to go around it, not just the pavers. They were courteous and prompt. They gave me a quote and they stuck to it. Their responsiveness was much better than the other ones. They came when they said they were going to come. If I needed other services, I certainly would ask for another bid from them.

Jerry and his crew were extremely prompt, professional, and efficient from start to finish. They completed a fairly large job in far less time than I expected even with inclement weather. Very reasonable price and the finished product is outstanding. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a hardscaping project.

We obtained estimates from several landscapers, who all quoted almost exactly the same price. We picked Cataldo because they were able to start the job promptly, and gave us a strong impression of professional competence. After the new walk was done, and the ground regraded, we asked them to delay the grass seeding, because we would be away for a scheduled vacation, and would not be able to keep it watered for that week. They then returned and did the seeding.

Our only disappointment is that the regrading left a small area near the street curb that is not up to the surrounding grade.

Great experience--start to finish! Jerry and his crew started job on time and worked hard to get it done before the holidays.
They dug up slate on front walkway and replaced with wider bluestone walk.They also took off pillars on landing and placed bluestone on steps and landing with stone on risers.The pillars had to be refitted and put back and even though Jerry doesn't usually do this he got it done perfectly.
To build the back patio the lawn had to be ripped out and then prepared for the paver patio. ( approx.10 X 15 ft ). Originally we were only going to do a walk way but decided on the patio.This was the best decision we made--it looks great!
Since it's a north exposure the snow/ice is slow to melt and was always a problem. Even though we've only had a little snow this winter it's been so much better to deal with.
Jerry's crew were professional and real craftsmen ( they've been with him for 10-15 years) You can tell they take pride in their work

Cataldo worked very quickly and did a high quality job. At the end of the project, I thought we had come to one agreement on costs for work and was billed for more than I was expecting. Perhaps we should have written items down more explicitly. I think with better communication it would have been a better experience.

Jerry went over our needs and asked us many qualifying questions to help us decide how much work we wanted done.  They completed the job on schedule and budget, and everything turned out well.
I highly recommend them in the future.

It was great!! 4-5 guys worked for 5 hrs and the place looks great.

Crew arrived on time, the owner, Jerry, had a rake in his hand helping with the work. Finished quickly, were flexible about the details of the job. The price seemed a bit high, but not too bad.

I called two other landscapers who NEVER showed up and did not even care...Jerry DOES care.....He is the best as far as I am concerned

They are the expert for masonry work, very experienced, price estimate was right on, and always very fast. We are very satisfied. Highly recommended! Price may not be the most competitive, but I think it's well worth it.

Met with Joe from Cataldo Landscaping and Masonary. We needed some Masonary waterproofing from last years storm. Joe was excellent. He was punctional for the appointment, he gave me a clear understanding of what needed to be done. He was the only masonary guy I called that seem to know what needed to be done via telephone. As he metioned he had a similiar problem with his basement. Nice stroke of luck for me. He was able to give me a clear understanding of what needed to be done and a estimate. Once hired, job was done within a day. The guys he sent cleaned up after and very polite. Highly recommend them

Jerry Cataldo returned my initial phone promptly, spent time on the phone answering my questions about how to select a style and color of paver, and met with me in person a few days later. Jerry was thoughtful about what we wanted, and was willing to help us preserve green space in our yard, unlike some other contractors who took a "pave everything!" approach. Jerry's crew arrived promptly and hand dug the space in order to avoid damaging the rest of the lawn with heavy equipment. They installed the patio using a beautiful, 45-degree herringbone pattern, and were thoroughly cleaned up and finished by the end of the day, ahead of schedule. We couldn't be more pleased with our patio!

HE DOES HIGH QUALITY WORK, HAS A GREAT AND ATTENTIVE CREW, SITE IS KEPT CLEAN, WORK IS DONE PROMPTLY WITH EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION. COST MAY BE HIGHER BUT YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. OUR LARGE BLUESTONE PATIO, LONG WALKWAY, AND SEVERAL FIELDSTONE WALLS ARE ALL IN GREAT SHAPE; NO MORTAR PROBLEMS ETC.

INITIALLY, JERRY CATALDO MADE A GOOD IMPRESSION; HE SEEMED KNOWLEDGEABLE, PARTICULARLY OF PLANTS. HIRING CATALDO LANDSCAPING, HOWEVER, WAS CONTINGENT ON RECEIVING A CONTRACT AND REFERENCES. WE NEVER RECEIVED THEM. WE SIMPLY DISCOVERED JERRY & HIS CREW ON OUR PROPERTY ONE DAY WITH THE WORK WELL UNDERWAY. ALTHOUGH THE MASONRY WORK WAS DONE WELL, THE CARPENTRY NEEDS WORK. A NUMBER OF TASKS WERE LEFT UNDONE, AND NO LANDSCAPING WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTRACTOR RESENTED OUR REQUESTS TO RE-DO THE WORK, AND THREATENED TO DISCONTINUE WORK IF HE DID NOT RECEIVE $8000.

JERRY IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL AND GREAT TO WORK WITH.

WALLS AND ADJUSTED GRADE OF THE FRONT AND BACK YARDS TURNED OUT TERRIFIC. GREATLY IMPROVED THE APPEARANCE OF OUR HOUSE. THOUGHT PRICING WAS ON THE HIGH SIDE, ESPECIALLY FOR EXTRAS, BUT JERRY NEGOTIATED A REDUCTION WHEN WE SPOKE WITH HIM ABOUT THIS.
