Colonial Shutterworks specializes in the fabrication and installation of beautifully custom crafted interior and exterior wooden shutters. We also offer custom screen, storm and storm/screen doors to protect your exterior doors as an alternative to standard aluminum doors. Our doors are made to complement the style of your door. Colonial Shutterworks is small enough to give each of our customers undivided attention yet experienced enough to offer products to fill virtually every customer's shutter and exterior door needs. We are experts at historic replications for the finest sought after details. We manufacture the shutters and doors and install our products throughout the SouthCoast, Boston and Providence and surrounding areas. If you're too far for an install, we can ship our shutters nationwide. Wooden shutters are naturally versatile and energy efficient. They add a distinctive grace to any decor while affording privacy and lighting options as they keep the sun and heat out in the summer and the heat in during the winter. As each situation is unique, we begin with a discussion and a preliminary quote and then proceed to detailed measurements, get the details agreed upon and on to a confirmed order. Once an order is agreed upon we ask for a 50% deposit to place your order in the queue. You will deal directly with the owners at all phases of the project. Colonial Shutterworks came out and measured each window carefully so that even 1/8th inch differences in size could be accounted for. I was surprised to learn how different each "identical" old window actually was. They let me pick paint color, shutter style, and even an aged brass look for the hardware.
A few weeks later they came back and carefully installed the new shutters. They are gorgeous and fit the windows beautifully. The room looks much more classy now as well.
