Briggs Landscape Construction

Used Briggs for probably 12 to 15 years to mow and plow our large property plus other projects as they arose. Mowing was always great, office staff was cordial and responsive. I had problems the last 2 years with their plowing side and Billy R in particular. 2 years ago we had those big storms back to back. Briggs came and plowed but shortly after I heard from our oil company that their trucks couldn't get up our driveway to deliver 2 of the houses. I called Billy and explained the situation. He came right back out, himself, and plowed again. The oil company tried to get in again and couldn't so I called Briggs back. Billy said that he did all that he could. I asked about a bobcat. He said they didn't have one available. I had to hire someone else for $200 to bring his bobcat in and do the work. Would've been fine except Briggs billed me for both plowings at $175 per. I called and told him I wasn't happy but I did pay them. Last year, first time they came to plow I caught the guys who were there to do the job as they were digging up my gravel section of driveway. Not their fault because they had never been to our property and were apparently given instructions that were not in accordance with my wishes. I got them squared away, they did most of what I wanted and left. When the bill came it was for $375, double what I had been paying. Call Billy again, he said their fees double over 12 inches and it was in our contract. Fair enough except I had no contract, had never been charged double and the National Weather Service recorded 9 inches in our town. Billy told me to find someone else to plow. I took his advice, sent them a check for $100 and found someone new to mow as well.

After repeated attempts to assure them that I wanted weed whaking not blowing my driveway or deck whether it needed or not, guys  continued to say it was not what the boss told them thus they couldn't do it.  Was being charged $75 for 3 guys to mow'N'blow for 15 minutes.  At one point they said they could not whak in back because of broken glass so I got in there & found all pieces of a candle holder that had blown off the deck but still not whakin.  Very pricey for less than 1 man/hour of not the work I wanted.  They said that the high price included transit from their shop.  Never had a landscaper charge for that before.  It seemed to be new guys each time & they would argue when I asked them to do or not do (damage the hosta) something. The estimator knew precisely what I wanted whaked as he added to the price specifically for it.

The price I would initially say was a little high but having gone with a cheaper contractor - the work immediately from Briggs was beautiful. Briggs picked up #1 contractor's  mistake of the cement they dug up from our back walkway (which they were not supposed to touch) which the 1st contractor left in a pile in our front yard. Then Briggs put all the Granite the first contractor put against our trees to dry out because the whole patio was wet from their grounding in stone dust. Briggs lined the heavy granite in palettes in the side of our yard very neatly- which was to heavy for my husband and I to carry
 After picking up after the first  destructive mason ;Briggs started their own work - they did not put down granite they said we work with what we know works, We watched them the whole week work tirelessly, professionally , punctually - they were the whole package and they went over and above what we paid them for, in cleaning the mess of the first contractor. At the end the quality was lovely with Nantucket  Pavers. I thank you so much Briggs for helping us literally out of a hole.We now need the back filled in which was taken mistakenly up by the #1 contractor . It is Briggs we will be calling. They showed up when the said the would, finished the job on schedule, billed us what they promised.  It worked.  They were friendly.  Very satisfied.

The entire experience was great.  The Briggs personnel were very personable and responsive.  Any hiccups were promptly addressed to our satisfaction.  We're very happy with the end results and will continue to work with Briggs into the future.

They were very pleasant.  Took a long time to actually get around to planting the tree, but did an excellent job.  I contacted them at the end of September.  The tree was planted in early November.  Some of it was my indecision about what kind of tree to plant, but I was told they had weather and scheduling problems.   I really have no idea if this was a good price.  I just wanted to get it done.       I enjoyed dealing with Diane

Given last winter, I was excited to see them show up as I am sure they were extremely busy.  They had to come a few times and did a good job each time.

Initial installation went well. I instructed them it was not necessary to haul away the excavated material and they could just dumping it on the slope I want to fill in anyway. They did a beautiful job on the installation and without being asked they spread the excavated material out on the slope rather than leaving it in a big pile. I was so impressed with the outcome I had them immediately add on to the patio to include the area I keep my grill. By all accounts I should have had that done with the original install but didn't think of it. I was not able to be there when it was installed and when I did return I was not surprised they did a wonderful job. Instead I was surprised by the fact t hat not only had they done a great job but they also anchored the cabana covering I was using to cover my grill to the new patio without even a suggestion from me and it looked awesome. These guys are top notch. When it comes to professionalism these guys have raised the bar. I will use them again and again and have already referred several people to them.

THEY WERE JUST GREAT...PROFESSIONAL ESTIMATES, FLEXIBLE, REAL PEOPLE ANSWERED PHONES, RELAYED MESSAGES PROMPTLY TO MANAGER, EMAILS RESPONSE WAS TIMELY.
THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO, THEY ALLOWED ME TO CHOOSE PARTS OF THEIR PLANS , RATHER THAN EVERTHING.

Good experience all around.

I have used Briggs for many services as I have been very pleased with the company. They are responsive on the phone, come when they promise, and make sure that I am satisfied with the work.  They have put down a new front lawn as well as plowing my driveway.

The walkway is a work of art.  Every attention to detail occurred.  The workers were polite and professional.  I would highly recommend Briggs to anyone who wanted a walkway installed.

mIn addition, I was hauling some heavy ornamental grasses to the area behind the retaining wall and one of the crew just came over and helped me. The entire job was professionally done and everyone involved from Diane, who answered the phone to Mark, the foreman who assessed the job and the crew were extremely pleasant and accommodating. I have other work that needs to be done and I will definitely come back to this company. I know I'm being a bit verbose but I have had more than one bad experience with contractors.

My husband and I were thrilled with the job that Mark Nelson and his crew did.  From initial phone call to completion of the work, everyone at Briggs was gracious, professional and just all around a pleasure to work with.  Mark made several visits to our house to make sure his estimate was accurate before  he presented it.  We are currently in the planning stages of two more landscaping projects- a patio and lawn reno- and we will absolutely use Briggs for the jobs.

They respond to me and the work was great so far. Pricing is high but everybody else is too. Quality of their work is superb!
