He was professional and punctual. In his evaluation of the problem, he noticed that a ground fault protector switch in the attic was off and turned it back on. He said that if an outlet in my bedroom below had not been working, it should work now.  I would recommend him for attic fan placement and replacement.

Works great, and very effective in removing hot air from house.  Only concern was that no drop cloth was used when hole was cut in roof, leaving debris on floor of attic (that was not vacuumed or removed).  Overall, very good guys and would use again.

I used to live in Maryland where every house has an attic fan. I relocated to Lexington, MA in Aug 2012, and moved into a 60-years-old cape in May 2013. This house did not have an attic fan. The upper level was very hot because of the heat coming down from the attic. The window AC couldn't cool down the rooms. Steve installed an attic fan and an inlet the next day after I called. I could feel the difference immediately. The suffocating heat was gone. There was a urine-like odor in the upper level before the installation. I did not know where it came from. The odor was also gone after the attic fan was installed. That odor must have come from the hot and humid air trapped in the attic for 60 years. Now the air in my attic is fresh and clean. Steve called me about a month later to find out if everything was okay. I complained about the noise from the fan. He came the next day and switched the position of the fan and the inlet with no charge. The noise was reduced to a very low hum.
Steve and his assistant were very professional. They arrived at the scheduled time, completed the installation in about 2 hours (when the outdoor temperature was in the 90s and the temperature in the attic was 140), and cleaned up before they left. Before the installation, the window AC could not cool down the room. Now, I am saving on energy bills. The money was well spent.

Steven was great-- No one else would touch this huge and ancient industrial fan, and he worked long sweltering hours in the attic just to get it right. A real pro!

Very pleased ! The Solar-Fan Man did a clean and professional job. It only took them about 2 hours and they were on their way and so was I. At first, I was a little nervous at the size of the solar fan at ground level and up close, but once installed way up on the roof it looked perfectly sized for my roof. My wife even commented, "It looks like it belongs up there". I waited couple of weeks before I made a report so I could give it a fair examination. So far, I have noticed a substantial positive difference. It is so much cooler in our second floor loft now . Before the solar fan, it was so hot, the recessed lights installed in my cathedral ceilings were pracitically glowing red. They were actually hot to the touch. (And yes, the lights were turned off) My attic was so hot that the metal of the recessed lamps had to be close to 140 degrees. No more. Cool as can be, now! And so is my upstairs-at least 10 degrees cooler. I hope to save all kinds of money running my AC now. As to the cost of the solar fan ($950.). With Federal and state tax write offs the actual cost comes down to around $500. My return on my investment should bring the cost down to zero in just a couple of years with all the savings in electricity and AC. From then on I'm in the black and making scratch.

The fan man talked me through the issue (Air conditioning was not keeping up in the upstairs of my house). The attic was just too hot, and the old fan in the attic was inadequate for the job. He installed a new, much more powerful fan that keeps the attic cool so my air conditioning can keep the house cool. He was prompt, stayed on budget, explained everything, and cleaned up well. I would definitely use the fan man again!

The experience went very well, they were fairly priced, and he was very professional and courteous. He had to upgrade the system to make it up to code. He also grounded the house so that if lightening struck it, the appliances would not be ruined. He pulled the permits also for us. I would use him again in the future.
