Contractor Service
All I can say at this point is don't do it. The frustration, lying, and corner cutting is not worth it. I will post more when I can, but I wanted to put this out there in case anyone was considering working with this company. I will share more in the future.

.GARAGE:  The sub-contractors for Lu in the plastering and electrical were great.  Regarding all other components, Lu's team required monitoring and Lu, as General Contractor, was not present on-site often so my husband stepped in to validate the daily work.  The team cleaned the site daily, however their arrival and departure times varied to complete the job.
BATHROOM:  the initial 2 weeks (ie the tear out) went smoothly.  As we had not yet received all necessary components for the renovation, the project began to slide.  When we had received everything (approx. 3 weeks later), contacting and scheduling Lu and his team was a significant challenge, with team members often arriving in off-hours (mid-afternoon, late Friday) as well as Lu scheduling weekend-work without our initial approval.  We were obligated to re-order tile when the tiler used all of the tile and made erroneous cuts thereby wasting.  The drywall went in crooked, and my husband requested it be re-done.  Again, Lu, as GC, was rarely onsite.  His team did not speak fluent English, making communication difficult for us, acting as GC, when Lu was not present.
Regarding the pocket-door ... this was Lu's suggestion as he had an option to purchase a pocket door and offer it to us; we accepted.  To this day, we have yet to receive the pocket door.  An 'interim door' was installed in early December following numerous email exchanges and scheduling dilemmas.  Lu had confirmed the door had to be re-ordered and would take 4 weeks.  The temporary door now has scratches due to nails within the walls scratching the door.  We have requested numerous times for Lu to finish the work; we have email confirmations of his intent to do so.  Lu then left the country for family reasons, returning in March, 2013.  We have not yet had a response from him to complete the pocket door.
We have given Lu Lagares and Precision Carpentry Corp. ample opportunity to complete the job but Lu's lack of communication has left us extremely disappointed in his services.  We would not recommend Lu Lagares, or his team, for any work in the future.
