ML Services

Poor. They kept promising to get to me soon but the clean up was not completed until July. The never did the new planting which was a simple phlox replacement.

It is nice working with Mike and Lucy because you can call them and they answer the phone and talk to you. The grass cutting is the best service. In the ML request for what you want done I asked for an estimate for mulching and I didn't get a response until half way through the year. I thought it was because there was not enough grass cutting jobs due to the drought conditions. The snow plowing tears up my grass and needs to be repaired every year. Overall they are good people to do business with.

Our lawn had a large patch that seemed to be dying overnight, so I called ML Services to ask if they'd be able to take a look and diagnose the problem. Mike happened to be in the office and took 20 minutes to speak with me on the phone to sort it out and even managed to come out the same night and take a look. He gave us all sorts of tips on how to proceed and manage the health of the grass and even took the time to answer my questions about pruning before running off to do another evaluation at 8pm. They were very generous with their time, obviously very knowledgeable, and didn't charge us a dime for the visit. I would definitely recommend them and use them again for pruning, lawn maintenance and clean-ups. 

I called with what our needs were, Lucy was immediately responded and set up an appointment for the following week. Mike's crew arrived early and would not leave until it was not only to MY satisfaction, but up to HIS standards.

Wonderful service, will hire again without a second thought.

Yard spring cleaning. Poor attention to detail. Leaf blower used to clean yard. Gardens not cleaned out. Many twigs and branches left behind. Called to have work completed. Worker came back after we complained. Gardens still not cleared, not much improvement after 2nd visit. Would not recommend or use again.

For the past year we had been considering hiring someone to plow our driveway as it is really big. With the big storm coming I found this company on AL and sent them an email. I received a call asking my address (which I had already given in the email) and exactly where we were. It was difficult to understand what was being said on the phone but I answered the best I could. The lady said she would discuss with her husband and get right back to me.  So here we are with 2 feet of snow and no phone call. Why not just say we won't be able to help you so that I can contact someone else? Why not email after your "husband" decides he doesn't want to do this job? I just don't understand why you would leave someone hanging with the big storm coming...

I called fairly late spring so they warned me it would take a few weeks to finish but they got the clean up done immediately after i accepted the quote. I had another service i had used and although i liked them well enough i just felt that their prices were high. To be frank i has pretty much planned to just start doing it myself again but an injury and the reasonable quote made me change my mind. I was ready to accept that i would get what i paid for, but i have to say they did a much nicer job than my last service. The edging is crisp and uniform and the mulch is good quality and spread evenly. Communication was clear. You just have to follow the rules. You can discuss things with Mike but if you want a quote or if you want to schedule something, as Mike will tell you clearly and repeatedly...you have to call Lucy. Regarding the F someone gave them for failure to follow up, they did take their first two week vacation in forever this year so perhaps that played a role. They can be busy sometimes, but they are good people and do good work. I also started routine mowing and trimming. The price, 45/mow is reasonable, they do a good job and they come to mow at near perfect intervals. That is harder than it sounds, as nobody likes to pay extra but i get edgy if my grass gets too long too. I am having them tackle some additional work, such as hedge trimming and putting a stone lined culvert in. I have had a good experience with all their employees i have interacted with. None of which would give you pause to have on your property.

They were good and fine but I think it's a little bit expensive.

Update: Had our first cut last week.  Nice straight lines across the lawn, our previous landscapers was not nearly as precise.  Mike also started in on clearing some dead poison ivy off the back of our lawn. and cleared the back edge of our lawn that had been overtaken by weeds to free up our sprinkler heads. So far we are quite pleased with the job M&L are doing for us !

Things are good, I still use them for yard work for mowing the lawn.  During the summer months they come on a weekly basis.

Lucy runs a tight ship.  She sent Mike to give an estimate on the same day I called, and later was honest about the amount of the estimate (too low) and the timing (too soon).  I appreciated her candor and we renegotiated to mutual satisfaction.  Crew came within agreed-upon time frame to aerate and spead lime on the lawn.  They seemed efficient and Mike came to check in on them at the end.   On inspection later, my husband thinks the work done was okay, but not great.  Certain areas of the lawn that were screaming for aeration were clearly passed only once with the aerator; and the lime, while difficult to see (little brown pellets), seemed skimpy for what we were promised (and for what we thought we were paying for).  Overall, I love Lucy, Mike is good, but the work quality is just okay (B-/C+).

They came to give me a quote looked at the job and never called or e-mailed me back.

When the old service I had hired told me they were not going to do business in Marlborough any more it caused a real problem for me.
Then I called ML Services and got a call back the same day and they came out a few days later. The owner came out with a crew and they did a great job. After talking with the owner I hired him. I recommend  ML Services.

The guys at ML Services are very accommodating, honor any requests you need them to do. They make sure the lawn looks very nice and clean. They work quickly which is nice. They are also very competitive.

I called ML Services from seeing them on Angies List. Mike came out one evening to give me a quote about doing some spring cleanup and get some ideas on cost for some other work.  Mike is a little rough around the edges but very proud.

The yard had not been touched since about end of August/September the year before. 

We walked the property, 1/3 acre, and I gave my thoughts and options I wanted done. He was honest and open and came back with his opinions on what I wanted. He just instilled confidence and just made me felt comfortable with him. He didn't beat around the bush and was very up front. All of the estimates were just that based on how many man hours it took. I agreed to have him do the spring cleaning. He came by about 5 days later, delayed due to rain, and all I can say is wow.

The original estimate was $250ish (his term) for the work. He not only did a spring cleaning but without being asked, used common sense and fixed 5 sections of split rail fencing that was leaning and falling down and reassembled the end of my stone wall that was hit by a car. When I saw the work, I was blown away. I was honestly speechless. I got a call the next day almost apologizing that they had to charge $400 but everything took much longer then expected including the need to dethatch 4 times. I didn't care. He did what was needed to be done, did more then asked AND I still feel like I got an incredible deal. An extra $150 for saving me 2 weekends worth of honeydoo work? Priceless!

We have been using them for landscape and snow removal services for almost a year now. The supervisor comes by and checks on his crew making any changes necessary.  I appreciate that he takes pride in what he does, and that shows in his employees as well.  He is an absolute pleasure to work with and always has a smile on his face. If everyone in the world operated a company like they do, the world would be a much better place.
